The most recent U.S. Drought Monitor update says more than 10% of the North Dakota is currently experiencing drought conditions. North Dakotans are in an enviable position - we are well on to drought protection for nearly half the population thanks to state and federal support for the Red River Valley Water Supply Project and the Eastern North Dakota Alternate Water Supply.

Garrison Diversion is a proud partner of this annual event held by the North Dakota Water Education Foundation (NDWEF). The money raised goes towards scholarships for students attending a North Dakota college or university whose families have played an active role in state water resource management. The North Dakota Department of Water Resources shares lots of good information about the Snake Creek Pumping Plant in the June edition of North Dakota Water Magazine.
Garrison Diversion is responsible for the operations and maintenance of key Garrison Diversion Unit facilities, including the Snake Creek Pumping Plant, through a cooperative agreement with the Bureau of Reclamation.
