Huge night last night at Fargo BJJ!

Congratulations to Greyson on earning his blue belt. Greyson has been training hard for a while now, both in BJJ and wrestling, and now that he’s turned 16, he’s officially able to wear the adult rank.
Well earned buddy!

And a big congratulations to Colin on earning his brown belt. Colin is one of our most active peer group leaders... constantly available for training, helping with coaching, and to answer questions or support other students.

Both of these guys represent our academy values extremely well, and we’re proud to have them on the mats with us.

Purple belt is a big step in Jiu-Jitsu. It’s often one of the toughest and longest belts, and it’s where you really start moving past the beginner/hobbyist stage and into becoming a true practitioner of the art.

At purple belt, you’re not just learning moves anymore. You’re starting to understand Jiu-Jitsu, connect positions, troubleshoot problems, and become a leader for the students coming up behind you.

Brandon has put in the time, stayed consistent, and earned this the right way.

Well deserved, Brandon. Congratulations.

Two great achievements last week:

1. Kyle W – Congrats on earning your third stripe on your white belt.
Kyle trained with us years ago and got to three stripes, then stepped away for a long time. When he came back to enroll his child, he made the decision on his own to restart at white belt. That wasn’t required by us, it was a commitment to himself. Now he’s back to where he left off, better than ever, and moving forward strong.

2. Jace J – One of our standouts.
Jace is 12 and has been training for over 8 years... he literally doesn’t remember life without Jiu-Jitsu.
He is the youngest person who trains in the adult program and also serves as a lead assistant and mentor in our kids program.

In our kids program, stripes don’t just reflect mat performance, we also recognize leadership and character, and various achievementson and off the mat.

The "Leopard Stripe" is reserved for those who set the standard as peer leaders and assistants. In 18 years, only a small handful of kids have been awarded.
