Your partner should not need binoculars to find you.

🪢 TRY THE INVISIBLE-ROPE RULE

Imagine an eight-foot rope connecting you and your doubles partner.

When your partner moves left, you slide left.
When they move right, you follow.
When they advance, you advance when the ball allows.

The goal is to maintain roughly 6–8 feet of spacing so opponents cannot drive through a giant opening between you.

Do not chase your partner into their pocket—but do not leave them defending an entire county alone.

Move together. Protect the middle. Make the opponents find a smaller target.

USA Pickleball recommends maintaining approximately 6–8 feet between partners while moving in sync with the ball.

SEVEN CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS. ZERO CHAMPIONSHIP.

Nico Acevedo and Yuta Funemizu had seven opportunities to win the Arizona Open men’s-doubles title.

Christian Alshon and Andrei Daescu survived every one, then completed a 15–13 deciding-game victory after 91 minutes.

Acevedo and Funemizu had already eliminated the No. 1 and No. 3 seeds during their run to the final.

One missed match point can haunt a player. Seven may require changing your name and taking up gardening.

The final was played September 20 and recapped September 21.

Four adults now reconstructing the previous ten minutes like detectives at a crime scene.

Final ruling: whichever person sounds most confident is probably wrong. 😂

THE SEVEN-POINT PATIENCE CHALLENGE

Play crosscourt dinks to seven.

You may attack only when the ball reaches above net height.

Hit a low ball hard into the net or out? Your opponent gets the point.

This trains two valuable skills:

✅ Recognizing an attackable ball
✅ Resisting the urge to manufacture one

Sometimes the smartest speed-up is the one you don’t hit.
