🦂 2026 War On The Wolf Tournament Recap 🥎

What a weekend for the Wisconsin Scorpions 12U - Coach Autumn squad in New London!

The girls battled all weekend and finished with a 4th place finish overall in a very competitive tournament. Sunday started with a hard-fought battle against South Appleton Rockers, where the girls came up just short in a close 3-5 game that would have punched their ticket to the championship game. The weekend wrapped up against KML Junior Chargers Green, where tough competition caught up to us in an 11-2 loss.

🥎 Special shoutouts this weekend:

🔥 Pitchers Abby, Amelia, and Cora continued to grind it out on the mound and combined for an impressive 35 strikeouts on the weekend!

💪 Lydia played shortstop absolutely lights out all weekend.

⚡ Hannah and Sophia continued to shine in the field and brought speed and pressure on the bases.

🧤 Laura gave us great quickness and coverage in the outfield, something our pitchers appreciated greatly.

💥 Morgan and Addy got the bats rolling and each drove in 3 RBIs, giving us some huge offensive moments.

👏 Addyson continues to be a huge asset behind the plate and snagged two foul pops in a single inning this weekend!

And honestly… every single player contributed. This team played hard, battled together, and represented themselves so well all weekend. We couldn’t be prouder of this group. ❤️🤍💙

But beyond the scores and stats, this weekend was another reminder of what real growth looks like.

It’s in the little things.

You notice catchers framing pitches while warming up before games. You see fielders naturally tracking fly balls and using two hands. You watch outfielders instinctively move into backup positions without reminders. A ball gets by the catcher and runners are already halfway to the next base before the coach can even say “go.” And maybe most importantly… you start to see players becoming leaders, picking each other up when someone needs a boost.

That’s the stuff that matters. That’s the stuff that lasts.

Also… one final observation from the weekend: Coach Autumn and Coach Mike can apparently do the Scuba better than the players 😂

After some big wins, a deal was made… and a deal got paid 😎 Coach Mike and Coach Autumn agreed to hit the Scuba dance, and let’s just say they delivered.

Our dugout culture remains undefeated. ❤️

Now enjoy this weekend’s Scuba video...

Wow… what a great weekend of fastpitch softball in Oconomowoc for an amazing group of girls blessed with some pretty incredible moms 💗🥎

These girls absolutely played their hearts out all weekend long, and honestly, every single one of them deserves recognition for their effort, toughness, and teamwork.

The Scorpions battled through 5 games this weekend, earning:
🥎 A big win against Wind Lake Owls Fastpitch
🥎 Two highly competitive pool play games against Pewaukee Predators and Poynette Prime
🥎 The #4 seed heading into bracket play

The girls then opened bracket play with a great team win against Focus Softball before falling to a very strong Waunakee Road Warriors 2032 team in the semifinals.

More importantly than wins and losses, this tournament was another huge step forward for this group. Every week they continue to grow, compete harder, trust each other more, and play better team softball. It’s been fun to watch this team starting to figure out just how good they can become together.

On Mother’s Day Sunday, the girls also proudly rocked pink socks in honor of all the amazing moms supporting them every step of the way 💗

We also wanted to give a few special shoutouts this weekend:

🔥 Our pitching staff of Abby, Amelia, Cora, and Laura combined for an incredible 36 strikeouts over the weekend, with Abby and Cora accounting for 30 of them!

And every great pitcher needs selfless catchers behind the plate…

Huge credit to Addyson and Lydia for battling all weekend, blocking tough pitches, handling pressure situations, and making strong throw downs when the team needed them most.

Offensively, the entire lineup did a fantastic job putting the bat on the ball and competing every at-bat. But we also have to celebrate TWO in-the-park home runs on Sunday afternoon 💣🥎

Congrats Amelia and Lydia!

What a fun way to kick off the tournament season. Coach Autumn and Coach Mike are incredibly proud of this group and can’t wait to see how far these girls can go together this summer.

🔥 PLAYER SPOTLIGHT – FINAL COUNTDOWN 🔥

Last but not least… Cora #8

(And yes… lowest jersey number on the team. Still not sure how that happened 🤔)

Cora brings something special to this group, a naturally curious mind and a real desire to understand the why behind everything.

If a coach asks for questions or feedback…
you can almost guarantee her hand is going up.

Because she’s not just playing the game... she’s studying it.

And that curiosity turns into growth. Every time.

Whether it’s throwing pitches, taking swings, or grinding through reps in January or June, Cora shows up with the same approach:
full effort, locked in, and focused on getting just a little bit better every day.

No shortcuts. No coasting.
Just consistent work and steady improvement.

Curious. Driven. Consistent.
That’s #8.

And before we wrap this up…

We’ve recently learned that both Cora and Amelia share the same pre-game ritual… the Macarena 💃

So naturally…
we might need to make sure that happens this morning 😄

And that officially wraps up our player spotlight countdown… 💙❤️

Let’s hear it for Cora and this entire group of girls as we get ready to kick off the season this morning in Oconomowoc!

Drop a ❤️🤍💙 and show them some love!

🔥 PLAYER SPOTLIGHT – THE COUNTDOWN CONTINUES 🔥

Down to #10… Amelia

If energy could be bottled…
we’d just label it Amelia.

She’s one of the most spirited and energetic players on this team, and if you ever challenge her?
She’s going to find a way to prove she can do it. Every time.

That kind of mindset doesn’t stay quiet either…
her teammates feel it, feed off it, and follow it. Amelia has a way of leading that just kind of… happens naturally.

And off the field?
She might be the only player we know who can go from softball mode to casually crocheting the team mascot like it’s no big deal 😄

Shoutout to Billy Dilly the pickle…
(or cucumber… we’re still sorting that out 🥒)

One thing we do know is this team wouldn’t be the same without Amelia bringing the energy, spirit, and tone every single day.

Leader. Energy. All heart.
That’s #10.

Let’s hear it for Amelia! 💙❤️

Drop a ❤️🤍💙 and show her some love!

🔥 PLAYER SPOTLIGHT – MEET OUR NEXT SCORPION 🔥

Next up… Sophia #13

If you spend time around Sophia, you’ll see the fun, goofy personality right away 😄

And once the game starts…
you’re getting one of the most reliable and dependable players out there.

There’s a strong chance she’s leading things off for us, and for good reason.

She steps into the box fearless, puts the ball in play consistently, and when she gets on… those legs get moving in a hurry.

At that point?
Good luck catching her!

And here’s something that tells you everything you need to know about Sophia…

She’s the kind of teammate who shows up to pitchers/catchers practice every single week, not because she has to… but because another teammate needs a catcher.

That’s just who she is.
Selfless. Reliable. Always there for her team.

Fun. Fearless. Dependable.
That’s #13.

Let’s hear it for Sophia! 💙❤️

Drop a ❤️🤍💙 and show her some love!
