Our first-year speedster Anna Riley is next in our season recap. Anna was a game changer for us this season at both running back and rusher.
Coming to Marian from Bainbridge Island, Washington, Anna made an immediate impact for the Sabres with her speed, toughness, and relentless motor. Whether it was breaking off long runs on offense or coming up with key sacks on defense, Anna played a huge role for our team all season long. One opposing announcer even compared her to a cheetah 🐆
Off the field, Anna also finished the semester with a perfect 4.0 GPA! Way to go, Anna!

Next up in our inaugural season round up is Raegan “Auntie Monte” Montello. Monte was our starting center, leading flag puller on defense and a steady upperclassmen for our young squad!
Monte collected a squad best 79 flag pulls and returned 3 of her 5 interceptions for touchdowns. On offense, Monte had 5 receiving touchdowns and stepped in as our backup QB completing 75% of her passes.
Monte will captain in the fall, and we can’t to have her back on the field next spring!
