Asked on Fox News why Republicans were facing such close midterm races, Ted Cruz warned about possible mid-term losses and offered this observation as to why Republicans were polling behind Democrats: “If you’re a left-wing transgender witch, you hate Donald Trump.” 🫠

I’m happy to accept the honorary title, but Brother Cruz, I’d suggest looking at your own policies before blaming the witches.

Voters are allowed to be disappointed in the people they elected—even if they are Republicans. Voters are allowed to question what their government is doing about housing, groceries, healthcare, and their rights. If those concerns are costing you support—and even your congressional power—calling the people who disagree with you names won’t make their concerns disappear.

In the same FoxNews interview, Cruz went on to appeal to “regular, ordinary Americans,” as though the people he’d just mocked couldn’t possibly belong to that group. LGBTQ Americans live here, too. We pay the bills, raise families, care for our neighbors, and have a stake in what happens next. Disagreeing with you doesn’t make us any less American.

Whatever your politics, take the time to know who and what you’re voting for. Find candidates and platforms that reflect your values and address the things that matter in your life. Ask questions, check their records, and expect more than an insult directed at somebody else.

Then go vote. Witches included.

The Board of Directors of the Southern Colorado Equality Alliance has unanimously voted to oppose Colorado’s Propositions 134 and 135, calling on our community to vote NO on both measures.

Our organization was founded in response to one of the darkest chapters in Colorado’s history. When Amendment 2 was passed in 1992, earning our state the painful moniker of "the Hate State," community members in Pueblo stood up and formed Pueblo After 2, the foundation of what is today the Southern Colorado Equality Alliance.

We remember where that path led, and we refuse to let history repeat itself.

Propositions 134 and 135 represent a dangerous step backward. We do not want Colorado to ever again be known as the "Hate State." We stand committed to dignity, equality, and protection for all members of our community.

We urge every voter in Southern Colorado and across the state to stand with us in protecting our progress.

Unpopular opinion: someone’s sexuality should never be the punchline.

We can absolutely hold politicians accountable for the deep harm their words, votes, and policies cause LGBTQIA+ people—without speculating about whether they’re secretly gay or “calling them out” for being closeted.

If someone is closeted, that isn’t the scandal. The scandal is helping build a world where people still feel like they have to be. Shame to the Republican Party for being unwelcoming and targeting the LGBTQIA+ community.

Critique the politics. Critique the hypocrisy. Leave forced outing out of it. 🏳️‍🌈

Good work Weld County Organizers!!!

Weld County, Colorado just showed every town how this fight is won.

County commissioners approved a 41-acre data center for a company called Global AI, on land outside Windsor. The people who live there say nobody asked them. So a group called POWER — Protect Our Water and Energy Resources — started knocking on doors.

Two weeks later, they had more than 30,000 signatures. Each petition carries about 15,000 names. They only needed 9,120.

One petition forces a public vote on the data center approval itself. The other would require voter approval for every future data center in the county, no exceptions.

The county still has to verify the signatures, and a special election could cost $650,000 to $750,000. Officials have already signaled a legal fight may be coming.

The commissioners voted in September. Now it is the people's turn.
