Always a good time when you get to talk to .chaser 🎤

Grant drove a stellar heat race finishing 2nd from 9th, but an avoidable contact penalty added +5 seconds to our time which ultimately put us 13th. We have a pre-final and final tomorrow to finish out the weekend! 🏁

Mini Millbridge Recap 🏁

Qualifying: P3 of 12
Heat: P2 to DNF
Feature: P11 to P4

Grant’s Gabble: I felt really good about it because the track looked really fun. It was a tiny bullring so we had to like slide it in which was really fun. I missed my hot lap session because we were having problems with the motor mount and the chain, but I was able to go out in the last group and set fast time. I felt good in qualifying and thought I was going to qualify first, but two other drivers were faster. In the heat race I felt really good and I just had to stay on the gas and pass people, but the person in front of me when entered a little bit wide then I went low, but I wasn’t close enough for him to see me so then he went down into me and then I spun out and then went over the berm which made my chain pop off. In the main, I felt really confident, I started last, but there was only 12 people, and I was like “I could win this” and I was really confident. I passed a bunch of people and then I got forth which I was pretty happy about.

William’s Millbridge Race #13 Recap 🏁

Qualifying: P1 of 24
Heat: P1 to P1
Feature: P1 to P3

William’s Words: I felt good in qualifying because the track was better than the other day when I was practicing. I felt really good in my heat because I got first. I felt the kid go under me a little bit and then I started to go down the turn a little earlier to protect. In the main I was mad that I lost two positions. That’s all

Crew Chief’s Corner: William had a great night overall and this was the first time we could see a different fire in him. He was at the race track with a purpose and was focused on winning. Going quick time validated that and so did his great and consistent driving lines. Before the main, he discussed what he should say in his Victory Lane speech and that was quickly shut down and a reminder that wins are not given. When the race started, he pulled out to the lead, but drove too much of a qualifying line and needed to protect more in the early stages of the race. He had good pace, but being the first race he had ever lead, he learned some valuable lesson and will come back more prepared for the next. We also enjoyed having our buddy Maverick racing dirt cars for the first time with us!

Grant’s Millbridge Race #13 Recap 🏁

Qualifying: P7 of 26
Heat: P2 to P3
Feature: P7 to P6

Grant’s Gabble: It was an okay night. I was pretty excited to try out my new SKE kart. I was tight in qualifying. In the heat race I got hung out on the outside so I got a little frustrated and ended up finishing 3rd. In the main I was really hoppy and I had a pretty good start, and made some quick moves to get to 4th. A caution came out and it went back to the last lap and after that it got strung out and I never really made anymore moves. My kart was pretty hoppy and it was ruining my momentum.

Crew Chief’s Corner: Grant debuted a new kart and overall he had decent speed, but not enough to be a threat to win. He made some great, heads-up passes early on which were cool, but racing luck wasn’t on his side. We’ll make a couple of tweaks and come back for the next one!

…and so it begins! 🏎️

At 4 years old, Landon ran his first left and right turns this week! He was very apprehensive in the beginning, but by the last session we couldn’t get him out of his kart! Right before bed he told mom and dad “I love racing!” 🏁

Sportsmanship at its finest! 👏🏼

The podium ceremony at the 2026 RMC Trophy Final featured a display of true sportsmanship. Micro MAX winner Alessio Tosti brought with him Grant Heckman, the provisional winner before tech inspection removed him from the top of the podium. In a time where tensions are high and moments can shape a person's character, actions like this deserve high praise.

CKNA Summer Nationals Recap 🏁

Qualifying: P6 of 13
Heat 1: P6 to P4
Heat 2: P4 to P8
Final: P5 to *P6, 2 position penalty for AC

This weekend was a doozy! Mother Nature decided to throw all the weather at us and we just fell short as William does not have a lot of experience racing in the rainy conditions and just never had that race winning pace in the dry. We hope that William has learned a few things from this weekend and can come back stronger next time! A huge congrats to our buddy Maverick for sweeping the weekend! ☝🏼

Also a big thank you to the VLR teams that helped us out this weekend while our main crew chief was gone 🙏🏼

RMC Trophy Final Recap 🏁

Qualifying: P9 of 14
Heat 1: P9 to P2* (DQ- clutch missing o-ring)
Heat 2: P9 to P2
Super Heat: P12 to P6
Final: P9 to P1* (DQ- carb float height)

Rollercoaster of a weekend. With many setbacks, Grant drove determined and made a lot of great passes. When the World Finals ticket was on the line, he rose to the occasion, but a bloated needle and seat altered our float heights and put us out of tolerance. We respect Rotax’s decision for being consistent and enforcing their rules and look forward to the next race.

Two brothers, two tracks, one goal ☝🏼

The Heckman Bros will be in different states this weekend as Grant will be running his MicroMax the ROTAX Karting RMC Trophy Final in Indiana while William will be piloting his VLR Karts Kid Kart Cup Karts North America Summer Nationals in Ohio 🏁

We wouldn’t be able to have these opportunities without the amazing support from our sponsors:
