🏆 WBA Hoosier Classic Champions! 🏆
What a day for Flamingos Baseball!
This championship was the definition of a complete team victory. Every player contributed, every coach played a role, and every family member provided support as these boys battled through all three games to bring home the WBA Hoosier Classic Championship.
From clutch hits and great pitching performances to outstanding defense and relentless effort, this group found a way to compete and respond every time they were challenged. Tournament championships are never easy, and these boys earned every bit of this one by playing hard, staying together, and never backing down.
As a coach, I couldn't be more proud of this team. The growth we've seen throughout this season has been incredible. The lessons learned, the hard work put in at practice, and the adversity they've overcome have all led to moments like today. This group has come a long way, and seeing them celebrate this championship together makes all of the effort worthwhile.
Most importantly, these boys continue to represent Flamingos Baseball the right way—with heart, toughness, and a commitment to one another.
Congratulations, boys. Enjoy this championship—you earned it!
To all of our competitors today, Indiana Dubs Baseball , Fort Wayne Diamondbacks DBacks Davey and DBacks Horace, we enjoyed sharing the field with you today. Best of luck the rest of the season.

Flamingos fall short in late innings mistakes and finish runners-up in the championship.
The Flamingos battled hard all day and earned a runner-up finish in the Circle City Memorial Day Bash in Indianapolis. In game one, the boys faced the Indiana Mayhem and squeaked out a tough 4-3 win despite being out-hit 7-3. Manny Burton, Elijah Underwood, and Les Leavell were great on the mound, holding Mayhem to just 3 runs on 7 hits while striking out 5.
In game two, the Flamingos faced a very tough and gritty Mooresville Militia Baseball team that never quit. The Flamingos jumped out to an early 6-2 lead but couldn’t manage to score again despite out-hitting the Militia 9-5. The bats were held in check by a fantastic pitching performance from Militia pitcher Bryson Rodgers, who threw the final 5 innings, striking out 12 while allowing only 4 hits.
Things fell apart late for the Flamingos in the 7th inning as the boys struggled to close out the game with a 2-run lead. At the plate, Felix Ortiz led the way, going 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI. On the mound, Manny Burton got the start and allowed just 1 run on 1 hit while striking out 2. Elijah Underwood came in relief and gave the Flamingos a chance to hold the lead. Les Leavell finished the final 3 innings, but the defense couldn’t back him up. Five errors and several missed routine pop flies allowed the game to slip away late.
Overall, the Flamingos played tough all weekend but came up just short, losing 9-5.
From our great sponsors at RTJ Designs, our player of the day is Declan Arens. He was great behind the plate all day and also went 1-2 with a walk and 2 RBI in the Championship. Great job, Dec!
The Flamingos are back at it next weekend as they compete in the End of School WBA Classic in Fort Wayne.
Great job this weekend, Flamingos! Keep working hard, clean up the mistakes, and get ready to bounce back next weekend! 🦩⚾
