🏐 NOT READY FOR THE CLUB VOLLEYBALL COMMITMENT — BUT STILL WANTING TO GROW YOUR SKILL AND GET BETTER?

We get it. Maybe you’re not ready for the time, travel and financial commitment that comes with traditional club volleyball — but that doesn’t mean you should stop working toward your next level.

That’s exactly why we created EMV’s Winter Club Prep Training Teams!

This program is designed for athletes who want to:
• Build stronger fundamental skills
• Get quality reps and meaningful competition
• Improve confidence and volleyball IQ
• Continue developing without the full club volleyball commitment
• Prepare themselves for the next step in their volleyball journey

Our Winter Club Prep Training Teams provide 2 hours of practice/play each week, every Sunday from 3–5 PM, November through March.

For athletes in 4th–9th grade, this is a great opportunity to keep growing, keep competing, and keep getting better — without committing to a traditional club season.

TRYOUTS: Sunday, Oct 25th at 3 pm
Cost: $15
Season Cost: $995 + $115 uniform package

If you’re not quite ready for club but you ARE ready to continue improving, this is your opportunity.

Come claim your spot and keep building your game!

Welcome to this week’s edition of Talons Up Tuesday!

This week, we’re talking about one of the biggest misconceptions in volleyball:

GOOD HITTERS JUST DON’T HIT HARD. Actually… great hitters know when to hit hard—and when not to.

Power is a weapon, but it’s only one part of being a great attacker.

A smart hitter knows how to:
READ THE BLOCK
See what the defense is giving you before you swing.

HIT WITH PURPOSE
Don’t just hit the ball. Have a plan for where you want it to go.

USE VARIETY
Hard cross…Line…Tip….Roll shot….Tool the block…Keep defenders guessing!!!

CONTROL YOUR SWING
Not every ball requires 100% power. Sometimes control creates a better opportunity.

MAKE THE RIGHT PLAY
The best attack isn’t always the hardest one. It’s the one that gives your team the best chance to score.

THIS WEEK’S CHALLENGE:

At your next practice, don’t ask yourself:

“How hard can I hit this?”

Ask: “What is the smartest attack?”

Because great hitters don’t just swing hard. They see the court. They read the defense. They make decisions.

It’s not just about power. It’s about IMPACT.

TALONS UP. PLAY SMART. PLAY TOGETHER.

🏐 A COMMITMENT TO SERVE & SERVE RECEIVE 🏐

Two of the biggest momentum-changing skills in volleyball start with one thing: quality first contact.

Serving isn’t just about getting the ball over the net — it’s about pressure, placement, consistency and strategy.

Serve receive isn’t just passing — it’s about platform control, movement, reading the server and creating a quality first ball for your offense.

This monthly clinic is designed to help athletes:

Develop a more consistent and aggressive serve

Learn serving strategy, placement & target zones

Build confidence behind the service line

Improve reading and anticipation in serve receive

Develop better footwork and body positioning

Improve platform angles and ball control

Learn how to make better decisions under pressure

Get LOTS of high-quality, purposeful reps

This is intentional training — technical breakdowns, quality instruction and competitive reps designed to help players take their game to the next level.

Monthly Monday Sessions
October 2026 – April 2027
5:00–6:00 PM
Open to 3rd–10th Grade Players

Whether your athlete is working to become a more reliable passer, a tougher server or both — this clinic is designed to help them train with purpose and compete with confidence.

Serve better. Pass better. Compete better.

Train. Compete. Grow. Repeat.
