YES, this applies to men too.
A man can have a long list of requirements for a woman: attractive, fit, feminine, educated, successful, peaceful, faithful, emotionally mature, whatever his standards may be.
There is nothing wrong with standards.
But standards work both ways.
The question isn’t only:
“Does this person meet my requirements?”
The question is also:
“Do I meet theirs?”
Because the more specific your requirements become, the smaller your potential pool becomes. And the people who meet a long list of desirable qualities are likely to have standards and options of their own.
Desire is one-sided. Selection is mutual.
So keep your standards.
Just pair them with self-awareness.
