Goldie is now 8 years old! She loves going to the dog park, she loves raw carrots, she loves running out to the mailman’s truck to get the mail, she loves riding in the car! Mostly, tho, she loves her dad!!

I've been asked to update this page and bring folks up-to-date on how Goldie is doing. She is now a 100% certified service dog for John, whereas she was still in training when she went missing. She is a wonderful, loving, playful Golden Retriever but when she has her vest on, she knows she is "working".
We are still so happy she is part of our family! Here are a few photos from the past year.

It's been two weeks since Goldie was found and we are settling back into our normal routine. Goldie has attended two special service dog training classes just for her - focused on making her not be so scared of loud noises. They went on a field trip to the railroad tracks and sat the entire time a train went by. They also went to the fire station where the on-duty fire fighters sounded the sirens and horns. At first the noise really startled her but now she is fine with it.
Goldie also got spayed and chipped yesterday. Here are a couple pics of Goldie wearing the protective cone and her nurse, John. She was still pretty drugged up. This evening she has a lot more energy and is back to regular eating and drinking.

Update from Goldie's mom: I spent the morning with Goldie while John went to Springtown to take up the fliers and posters we had put out. Goldie was really thirsty and wanted water more than food so may have a little dehydrated. We had a fun morning just sitting mostly in backyard with her bringing me her toys or wanting her tummy rubbed. John and Goldie spent the afternoon together and were inseparable. They played together and napped together and even ate a little ice cream together. Life is good!
