BBR Texas Tour

After looking the calendar for the rest of the year, it looks like we can fit in two events with out treading into the holidays. Be on the lookout for a singles event and a trios event.

I want to thank everyone who came out to bowl the latest Texas Trios. We had 31 teams come in a bowl. Despite the AC issues the bowlers gutted it out. This time we had bowlers come in from Monroe, Louisiana, as well as Abilene, Waco, Tyler/Longview, Temple and many of the immediate surrounding areas. You guys made it a success. Huge shoutout to the top 4 that went into a stair step roll off. Qualifying in 4th place was Team Bumpus (Lorretta, Sharon and David) who faced off the first round against Johnson County Automotive (Tammy, Cassandra and Daniel). Johnson County Automotive moved on to bowl 2nd place qualifiers Ball Busters (Daniel, James and Mike). Ball Busters came out on top and moved on to bowl the top qualifier Wicked Time (TJ, Chris Y and Chris D). The game went down to the 10th frame where we had a dramatic finish for Ball Busters to come out on top.

Save the date, next Texas Trios is on the calendar for June 13, 2026.

First off, thank you to all that came out today and bowled in the Singles Eliminator tournament. This was our first one, and we will do more once we figure out a balance on our calendars.

What started out as hoping we would get 20 bowlers ended with us getting 38. This was great! All 38 bowlers bowled 3 games in round 1, the cut to make the top 19 was 655. For round 2, those 19 bowlers bowled 2 more games and the cut to make the top 10 was 472. In round 3, the top 10 bowled 1 game and the cut was 230 to make the top 5.

In round 4, those remaining bowlers bowled 1 more game. This was the cashers round, with all 5 bowlers getting money. After that game we paid 4th and 5th places and the top 3 had a stair step final, where both matched came down to the 10th frame.

Finishing in 5th place was David Kurlan for $125. Finishing 4th was James Guerra for $200. Third place went to Danielle McKinnon for $325. Second place went to Marlon Miller for $475 and our Champion was Stephen Grzybowski for $850. Stephen also received out new trophy for champions.

Recap of today’s Trios event…we had 30 teams, still room to grow. Lots of new people this time around, so hopefully we are doing something right. We paid the tops 8 teams, with the top 4 going on to a baker style step ladder final.

1st place - Team Hines (Theresa Parmele, Shel Hines and Mike McHugh).

2nd place - Bowling Saints (Carlos Santos, David Sawyers and Ricardo Melendez)

3rd place - Black & Yellow
4th place - Team Rodocker

I would like to say thanks everyone who came out to bowl and I hope you all had fun. Next up is our handicap singles eliminator on April 25, and we will check calendars to get the next trios scheduled.
