Total Care Lone Star Dwarf Car Club Race Report
Boyd Raceway — Boyd, Texas
Friday, May 8, 2026
The Total Care Lone Star Dwarf Car Club returned to Boyd Raceway on Friday night for the first time since 2023, bringing a 15-car field and plenty of action to the fast North Texas oval. With two competitive heat races setting the stage, the 20-lap A Feature delivered a finish few would have predicted.
Jeffrey Patterson in the 27P started from the pole and quickly jumped out to the early lead. A few laps into the race, the caution came out when Dylan Payne suffered mechanical issues at the top of turns three and four, ending his night early.
On the restart, Patterson again fired off strong and held the lead, but the 17 of Chance Hull was on the move. Hull worked his way from the fourth restarting position to the back bumper of the 27P and eventually made the pass for the lead. Hull paced the field for several laps before entering heavy lap traffic.
As Hull charged into turns three and four, he caught slower traffic near the top of the track. Misjudging his entry speed, Hull barely clipped the situation wrong, spun at the top of turn three, and saw his strong run come to an unfortunate end.
That handed the lead back to Jeffrey Patterson, but the race was far from over.
On the ensuing restart, Colton Patterson, who started seventh in the 32P, found himself right on Jeffrey’s back bumper. Colton stayed patient, made his move, and eventually slipped past the 27P to take command of the race. Once out front, Colton drove away, building a lead of more than three seconds over second place.
Colton Patterson went on to capture the 20-lap A Feature win, marking his second Lone Star Dwarf Car Club feature victory of the season.
Jeffrey Patterson came home second, giving Crockett Patterson Construction and Plumbing Racing a strong 1-2 finish. The night was also a big one for Patterson Racing Suspension Shocks, with PRS-equipped cars sweeping the top five.
Dusty Jager finished third, Darren Hull came home fourth, and Rawdy Hull rounded out the top five.

Rawdy Hull Captures First Feature in the First Race of the North vs South 3 race Shootout!
ELMOTT, Texas — The TotalCare Lone Star Dwarf Car Club made its second trip of the season to Heart O’ Texas Speedway, where a strong 32-car field delivered exciting action all night long through heat races, the B-Main, and the 20-lap feature. The event also marked the first round of the three-race North-South Shootout against the Dwarf Car Racing Series of Texas.
When the green flag dropped for the feature, Rawdy Hull put the Gatlin No. 18 on point from the pole and jumped out to the early lead. Not far behind, Chance Hull came charging from the 7th starting spot, slicing through the field and taking over the lead on lap 3.
Hull looked poised to run away with it, stretching his advantage to nearly four seconds before a string of cautions erased the gap and tightened the field back up. Over the closing laps, the battle intensified as Chance Hull began battling engine trouble, allowing the pack to close in and setting up a thrilling multi-car fight for the lead involving Rawdy Hull, Colton Patterson, Brandon Spreen, and Jeffrey Patterson.
At one point, Colton Patterson briefly grabbed the lead with an aggressive slider in turns 3 and 4, but the move did not stick, costing him momentum and allowing Brandon Spreen in the No. 88T and Jeffrey Patterson in the PRS No. 27P to get by.
The race was then slowed by a dramatic red flag when Toby Blackney got upside down multiple times after contact in turn 2. Fortunately, Blackney climbed from his car under his own power and was uninjured.
That set up a two-lap shootout to the finish, and the sliders came fast and often. Jeffrey Patterson, making his first start of the season, lined up second on the Delaware double-file restart and threw everything he had at Rawdy Hull over the final laps. But Hull found the top groove and the drive off to be the winning combination, holding strong to score his first-ever TotalCare Lone Star Dwarf Car Club victory in impressive fashion.
Jeffrey Patterson finished a strong second in his season debut, while Brandon Spreen turned in his best run of the year with a third-place finish, also making him the top-finishing DCRST driver. Darren Hull came home fourth, with Colton Patterson rounding out the top five after a hard-fought effort on the technical, top-dominant racing surface.
The “Dillons” occupied positions six through eight, with Dillon Payne finishing sixth, Dillon Coyne seventh, and Dylan Budnik eighth. Brady Ricks and Chris Ochoa completed the top 10.
In heat race action, James Jarrett picked up his first heat race win of the season in Heat 1. Dillon Spreen represented the DCRST side with the win in Heat 2, while Dylan Budnik captured Heat 3. In Heat 4, Jeff Patterson held off Chance Hull in a strong battle to score the win for the 27P.
The B-Main went to Dillon Coyne in the 12T, who punched his ticket into the feature with an impressive drive.

Hull Dominates Season Opener at Heart O’ Texas Speedway
WACO, Texas — The 2026 season kicked off in exciting fashion at Heart O’ Texas Speedway as the Total Care Lonestar Dwarf Car Club and the Dwarf Car Racing Series of Texas brought a strong 33-car field to the quarter-mile dirt bullring.
The A-Main feature ran green to checkered with competitive racing throughout the field, but it was Chance Hull who stole the show. Starting from the third position, Hull quickly charged to the lead at the drop of the green flag and never relinquished the top spot, building a commanding advantage as the race progressed. By the time the checkered flag waved, Hull had stretched his lead to nearly nine seconds over the field.
The victory carried extra meaning following a difficult week for Hull and his family. Jeffrey Patterson, owner of Patterson Racing Suspensions, offered Hull the use of his car for the night, providing the opportunity for Hull to compete in the season opener. The combination proved to be a winning one as Hull piloted the Patterson machine to Victory Lane.
Speaking afterward, Hull praised the car’s performance throughout the night.
“The car was spot on all night,” Hull said in Victory Lane. “I could put it anywhere I wanted on the track and it responded. After tonight, I might have to make a few changes to my own car after seeing how well Jeffrey’s setup worked.”
Colton Patterson earned Hard Charger honors after advancing eight positions from his 10th-place starting position to finish second. Patterson worked his way through a talented field in the Crockett Patterson Construction and Plumbing machine, thrilling fans as he sliced through traffic. Despite finishing nine seconds behind Hull, Patterson described the run as the best race he has driven to date.
Dillon Speen of the DCRST finished third, followed by Darren Hull of the Gatlin Racing Camp in fourth and Dylan Coyne of DCRST in fifth and a strong run by Dusty Jager in the JDR race machine closely in sixth.
The battle for positions two through six provided some of the most exciting racing of the night. Ryan Stoy worked his way up to third in the closing laps before a late mistake dropped him back to a seventh-place finish. Dylan Budnick and Ricky Smith—who advanced six positions during the race—also worked their way forward through the field, while Danny Rogers rounded out the top ten.
Heat race victories earlier in the evening went to Chance Hull in Heat 1, Duain Burford in Heat 2, Colton Patterson in Heat 3, and Dillon Spreen in Heat 4.
B-Main wins were claimed by Easton Sargisson and Rowdy Hull, both drivers successfully transferring into the night’s A-Main feature.
With a full field of competitors and thrilling battles throughout the pack, the 2026 season opener at Heart O’ Texas Speedway provided an exciting start to the year for both the Lonestar Dwarf Car Club and the Dwarf Car Racing Series of Texas.
