🎯 WDF World Masters Recap 🎯
What a week. Going into one of the biggest tournaments on the WDF calendar, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect. The two weeks leading up to this event were a mental battle with my darts. I struggled to trust myself and spent a lot of time wondering if my game would show up when it mattered most.
Looking back now, I’m leaving with a lot more confidence than I arrived with.
Results-
Top 4 Girls Pairs
Top 4 Girls Cricket Singles
Top 4 Girls WC Qualifer
Day 1 started with Girls Pairs alongside Rhinae. We had a great run to the Top 4, eventually losing to the girls ranked World #1 and World #2. We both threw some really good darts, and I couldn’t have asked for a better partner to share that experience with.
Day 2 was the Girls World Masters. Unfortunately, I didn’t make it out of my round robin group despite playing well. It came down to just one leg, as I finished one leg behind the player who advanced in second. Later that day, I partnered with Carolyn Mars in the Women’s Pairs. We drew Paula and Kim in the first round and lost a close 3-2, but I had such a great time playing with Carolyn.
Day 3 was Cricket Singles, where I finally felt like everything was clicking. I played some of my best darts of the week and made it to the Top 4. Unfortunately, in the semifinals I had too many missed opportunities that I didn’t capitalize on, and against players at this level, that’s all it takes. Later that day, Carolyn and I competed in Women’s Pairs Cricket. We drew another strong team in the first round, but I thought we played really well together and had a blast.
Day 4 was the WDF Silver event. Unfortunately, I let my nerves get the better of me and played my worst match of the week. It definitely wasn’t the result I wanted, but it’s another learning experience that I’ll grow from.
Saturday was a nice chance to watch the finals, support everyone still competing, and enjoy some incredible darts.
Sunday was the Lakeside Qualifier, and I was able to make another Top 4. In the semifinals, I played an amazing player from Austria who I met and traded jerseys with while representing Team USA in Korea. I felt like I played a really solid match, but a few missed doubles early on proved costly. We battled all the way to a deciding leg before I came up just short, 4-3. Congratulations to Celina on earning the Lakeside spot—I wish you nothing but the best!
While the week had its ups and downs, I’m leaving proud of myself. After the mental struggles I’d been dealing with before this tournament, I proved to myself that I can compete with some of the best players in the world. There are still things to improve, but that’s what keeps me motivated.
A huge thank you to Black Dog Darts and the whole DDA for holding a qualifier to help send me to this event. Your support made this opportunity possible, and I’m incredibly grateful. As well big thank you to Chrissie with D’Angelo Sports who was so kind enough to create a raffle to help send me and 2 other kids get to Vegas! Without ya’ll me getting there would’ve been impossible!
Thank you to my amazing sponsors—Winmau Darts, Lone Star Darts and Billiards, , Stingerz, and —for believing in me and continuing to support my journey.
And finally, the biggest thank you goes to my mom Alyse Tirrell Hamerman. None of these opportunities happen without you. Thank you for every mile traveled, every sacrifice you’ve made, and for always believing in me, even when I struggle to believe in myself. I love you more than you’ll ever know.
The work doesn’t stop here. On to the next one. 🎯❤️
