Sometimes the messages that mean the most have absolutely nothing to do with velocity. 🩷

I got a message from a mom letting me know that her daughter has decided she doesn’t want to continue pitching.

And while I’m obviously sad that I won’t get to keep working with her because they all become my babies, I found myself smiling through the sadness when I read the rest of the message…

Her daughter absolutely loved working with me.

And THAT is something I will never take for granted.

Because coaching isn't just about creating better athletes. It’s about creating an environment where a kid feels seen, supported, encouraged, challenged, and believed in.

Sometimes we get to coach an athlete for years.

Sometimes we get them for a season.

Sometimes, we get to be a small part of their journey and then watch them choose a completely different path.

And that’s okay.

My goal has never been to make every kid a pitcher forever.

My goal is to make the time they spend with me matter.

If a girl walks away from pitching but remembers that she was capable, that she was supported, that she was allowed to learn without fear, and that her coach genuinely believed in her…

Then I did my job!

The wins, the strikeouts, the radar numbers and the championships are amazing.

But these messages?

These are the ones that remind me why I do this. To make a difference in a kid's life.🩷

Thank you for trusting me with your daughter. It was an absolute privilege to be part of her journey!!

Maci was absolutely grinding last night to fix her asymmetries and mechanical issues! It was like Christmas morning for me because I got my new tools from The Farm. What did it for me was that when she pitched she could FEEL the difference in posture, her back didn't hurt when she pitched, and she called me a magician 😂🩷🖤

🔥 THIS is what happens when you refuse to stay stuck in “the way we’ve always done it.”🔥

Major props to The Farm System for the work they’re doing to push training forward and keep athletes exposed to methods that actually evolve with the science. 👏🏼

And you already know I'm not interested in coaching from 1998. 😏

The body is constantly being studied. Sports science is advancing. Training methodologies are changing. And if there’s a better, smarter way to help our athletes move, produce force, transfer energy and ultimately perform—we’re going to LEARN IT.

That’s why I’m excited about incorporating waterbag training techniques into my toolbox.

Waterbag training challenges the body in a completely different way. The instability forces athletes to control movement, manage shifting loads and coordinate the body as a system—not just isolate a muscle and call it training.

Because pitching isn’t a collection of body parts.

It’s a sequence. It’s timing. It’s force. It’s connection. It’s movement.

And if you’re going to teach athletes how to move at a high level, you better be willing to keep learning at a high level.

So thank you to The Farm for continuing to raise the bar.

And Prowess?

I'm going to keep studying.
I'm going to keep evolving.
I'm going to keep challenging the status quo.

Because "we’ve always done it this way” is not a scientific principle.😉
