Pranayama: The #1 Biohack on the Planet.

Forget expensive gadgets, cryo chambers, and red light therapy.

The most powerful biohack is free, has zero side effects, and has been around for over 5,000 years.

It’s your breath.

Why Pranayama is the ultimate biohack:

🧠 Hacks your nervous system
Slow, extended exhales activate the vagus nerve, flipping you from fight-or-flight (sympathetic) to rest-and-digest (parasympathetic). Less stress. Less cortisol. More calm.

❤️ Hacks your heart
Breathing at 4–6 breaths per minute increases Heart Rate Variability (HRV), the #1 biomarker of longevity and recovery. High HRV = younger biological age.

⚡ Hacks your brain
Alternate nostril breathing (Nadi Shodhana) balances the left and right hemispheres. Improves focus, reduces anxiety, and enhances cognitive performance.

🔋 Hacks your energy
Bellows breath (Bhastrika) rapidly oxygenates the blood, increases alertness, and wakes up the nervous system better than coffee.

😴 Hacks your sleep
Box breathing (4 in, 4 hold, 4 out, 4 hold) before bed lowers heart rate, drops cortisol, and prepares the body for deep restorative sleep.

The science backs the ancient wisdom:

📍 A 2017 study found that slow breathing techniques reduced stress, anxiety, and depression while improving autonomic function .

📍 Research on Sudarshan Kriya (a rhythmic breathing technique) showed significant reduction in cortisol and improvement in immune markers .

📍 Vagal nerve stimulation through breathing is now being studied for PTSD, depression, and inflammatory conditions .

You can spend thousands on biohacking gear.

Or you can sit on a pillow, close your eyes, and breathe.

Try it tonight:
🌬️ Inhale 4 seconds
🌬️ Hold 4 seconds
🌬️ Exhale 6 seconds
🌬️ Hold 2 seconds
Repeat for 5 minutes.

Your body knows how to heal. Your breath is the key.

Our Story

Hi, I'm Jennifer Smith-McLaughlin and I'm here to let you know that yes, YOU can practice yoga too and find all of the amazing benefits that you're hearing about in all the magazines and talk shows. Yoga is not a weird cult, it's not about turning yourself into a pretzel, and it's not about having a cute butt. Yoga is a practice- a practice of going inward, taking some deep breaths and giving yourself some peace. The postures are just one part of the practice of yoga. I teach Hatha yoga, which places emphasis on breathing practices, asana (postures), controlled movement (with modification so everyone can do it), and meditation. I have been practicing yoga for over 40 years and have been teaching for over 10. I am a 500 hour certified Yoga Acharya, or Master Yoga Instructor, and I am also certified in Yin/Restorative Yoga and Trauma Informed Yoga. and I make sure that you are safe and comfortable in my classes. I've worked with cancer patients, chiropractic patients, people dealing with anxiety and stress, in big gyms, small studios, and in my home studio. I am now teaching private classes and at a beautiful studio in Frederick, Maryland called Yogamour Yoga and Healing Arts Center.
Like everyone, I have gone through difficult times in my life, and yoga is the one practice that has helped me to keep it together and stay really healthy in my mind, body and spirit. I've managed to completely stop anti-depressants, cholestoral medication, or any other drugs that many people come to accept as normal as they get older. I am in my 50's and I feel better than ever!
I believe that the practice of yoga, which means union, is for everyone, no matter what physical condition you're in. Through gentle, clear instruction, I make yoga accessible to all people. Yoga should be a lifestyle, not a once in a while thing. If you begin a steady and dedicated practice, you will find my classes transformational, not to mention, fun!!!
