This is with an heavy heart we have to announce the death of one of the nicest person Oscar. The last tournament he did was the mixte national in Lakeworth and he was supposed to play this weekend in Orlando.
He leaves behind him 4 boys and his wife. Leo will organized a gofundme , please if you can give what ever amount you can it will help a lot

Dear Petanque Family,

It is with a heavy heart that I am writing to say that Carolina Jones passed away peacefully at home yesterday, May 20, 2026. Our thoughts are with her family during this difficult time.

Carolina was a long time member of Lamorinda Petanque and embodied the spirit of our club: Fun, community, good play and etiquette. In one of my last communications with her, Carolina reminded me to be sure not to put dirty glasses in with the clean glasses after our birthday parties, and to keep the shed organized! I promised to do so and assured her that she will always be very much a part of Lamorinda Petanque.

We will celebrate Carolina in due course. If you have pictures of Carolina please share them to this album! She will be greatly missed by her many friends in Lamorinda and beyond.

24 players participated. A huge thank you to all of the volunteers who assisted the Umpire crew. This was the first event of this level and magnitude at an FPUSA Qualifier.

The evening ended with a light meal thanks to Fresno Petanque Club volunteers. Thank you Joyce Tessers-Simpson and Cathey for serving everyone.

Holiday party on Sunday December 14th at Cary park ( weather permitting). See you all then.
