It's Brand Magic

Six years ago, I took a leap of faith and started my own design business with a hot fiery passion for what I do and a vision for the future. ⁠

But pretty early on, I made some serious mistakes that cost me more than just my first business. 😰⁠

I was not charging enough for my services, which left me struggling to make ends meet. By the time I shut my business down I was facing eviction and car repossession. 🚗⁠

Worst of all, I took on clients that were not the right fit for me, and I ended up being overworked, underpaid, and burnt out.⁠
⁠
It was a hard pill to swallow, but I had to face the truth - I had lost sight of my original vision and was too busy trying to please others that I forgot to focus on what mattered most to me. ⁠

I realized that I was not in the right mindset to continue running my own business. So, I quit and went back to a 9-5 for a while.⁠
⁠
But even during that time, the fire inside me never died out completely. I can’t tell you how many jobs I’ve been let go of because I made the business owner “nervous”.⁠

Because a true entrepreneur can never work for other people. 🤷‍♀️⁠
⁠
After about a year of re-evaluating my priorities and getting just the right amount of pi**ed off at corporate America, I came back… with fire I’ve never felt in my life.⁠

And now I’m pi**ed again! 😡⁠

I’m learning that I’m not the only one that struggled. And I’m damn sure not the only one that has thought: ⁠

“Maybe I’m not as good at being a business owner as I thought I would be?”⁠

That's why I've decided to start a marketing strategy membership for women of all types of business, I’m calling it Brand Magic. ⁠

Brand Magic is for women who don’t have to quit their business to realize how badly they want it. ⁠

My goal is to help solopreneurs avoid the same mistakes I made and provide them with the tools, resources, and support they need to generate consistent leads.

How are you going with that whole work/life balance thing? Hmmm. I would rate myself a 7 out of 10, which means I definitely have room for improvement too.

I figured there were 3 things I really had to get clear on to help me get better at balance and they are:

❤️ Putting what is important to me first - Sometimes it is really easy to get caught up in the chaos of my business and when that happens I try my best to reframe my thinking and remember what is MOST important to me.

❤️ Saying NO to things that don't serve me - If it is not a HELL YES then it is a no. My time is precious and I try to only work with clients who light me up.

❤️ Remember what my idea of success is (not what others want/have) - In the early days of my business I got caught up wanting to achieve what other people were doing but my idea of success is completely different from theirs! It is important to remember what your idea of success is and ignore the noise.
