By now, you all should have received emails stating:
Varsity All Star was built on optimism and courage, and while these are uncertain times, we do not intend to give up. What we do know is that thousands of coaches and athletes across the country were ecstatic to learn earlier this week that we were not “throwing in the towel” on our season. The outpouring from them made our resolve even stronger: America’s cheerleaders and dancers want to find a way to end their season.
Varsity All Star is committed to saving the season safely, and thus, we have been diligently working behind the scenes to relocate and reschedule events to future dates. Today we are proud to announce several new regional event dates that will provide athletes opportunities to continue, together. We are still working to finalize the details within this fluid situation, so please note that things could change. However, we wanted to share the information with you quickly so that you can begin to visualize and plan for the possibilities of what’s next.
Click the link in the comments to see where we intend to host events in May and June 2020. We are working internally to update the MyVarsity portal with this information, please continue to check there for updates. These events will all be 2-day events run by various event Varsity All Star event brands. This is our way of delivering the best possible product to each regional location.
We want to share too that it is absolutely our intention to hold our end of season championships. For the Summit and D2 Summit, we cannot state with assurance today the exact dates for The Summit and D2 Summit, but we can tell you that we are very close in finalizing that information. With that being said, each of these new events will offer 2 Paid and 8 At-Large Bids for The Summit and The D2 Summit and 4 At-Large Bids to The Dance Summit. In addition, each event will also offer 2 At-Large bids to the International Summit Divisions. Champion Spirit Group, Reach the Beach, USA and One up will be offering an additional 3 Paid Bids to The Dance Summit. The U.S. Finals is currently in the early stages of development for a virtual championship option so that teams who cannot venture out to an event will have a viable alternative to finish their season, too.
The following events also intend to award bids to The Cheerleading & Dance World Championship; Aloha, USA, One Up, Reach the Beach, American Cheer Power – Columbus, Spirit Festival Nationals and Cheer Ltd./Spirit Sports. Bid declarations will be forthcoming as more information is finalized and released by USASF.
Some of you have voiced concerns that continuation of this season may impact the 2021 season. We are listening to those concerns, as we are considering how these changes may affect next season. We will keep listening and keep working on solutions to serve you in the future.
We are so grateful for the opportunities we have to serve you. We hope to see you soon, and that we can all end our season, safely, together.
