The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the storm approaching Alachua County tomorrow. Wind gusts are expected to exceed 40 mph in Gainesville. The wind advisory will be in effect from 4 am to 10 pm on Tuesday.



Alachua County Public Schools have cancelled classes and their extracurricular activities for tomorrow. We will follow suit and cancel karate classes tomorrow (Tuesday) out of caution. We hope everyone remains safe and healthy. We anticipate returning to class on Wednesday night.

This fall is Katsu Dojo’s 25th year teaching karate! To celebrate – we are selling a special 25th Anniversary t-shirt. We also have a new warm-up jacket that would make a great Christmas Present.

Katsu Dojo is now taking orders for our custom woodwork so parents can receive them in time to use for Christmas presents! These can be ordered by both current and former students. We have frames for kyu rank and black belt diplomas, a display rack to hang your black belt, and our memory box for storing all your belts and diplomas.

Alachua County Public schools have canceled classes tomorrow due to Hurricane Eta. We will follow what they are doing and cancel classes for tomorrow night (Thursday). It is currently tracking to be in our area about midnight tonight and last until Thursday night. There is regular class tonight and we plan to be open back on Friday night.

We hope everyone stays safe thru the storm!

By order of Alachua County as of July 1st, facial coverings are required when entering, exiting or exercising in any business establishment. This applies to students, staff and parents. Additionally, social distancing guidelines must be followed, wherever possible.

We realize the importance of following CDC and County guidelines to stop the spread of the Corona Virus. Our goal is to run our classes safely, taking into account the effects of wearing a mask. Students will be allowed to take breaks whenever they feel winded or out of breath. We will continue to monitor the situation and communicate any additional guidelines.

We just got the word that gyms and fitness centers will be allowed to open on Monday, provided we follow social distancing guidelines. Stay tuned for more info- we're excited to see all our students again!

We just added our next set of videos for students to practice at home. It is all the basic exercises from white belt thru brown/black belt. They are altered so students can train at home in a small space.
