Sometimes, there are 20 people who show up, and sometimes, there are only a few. But we are consistent, every other weekend, getting those steps in and feeling the seasons in real time.

You've been meaning to join us, right? How about now? The weather is looking to be PERFECT, but of course, being in Ohio, that could change in an instant.

Memento Ruckus is a chance to do some not-so-ordinary networking and meet some other motivated folks who like to get things done. Ruck with us, walk with us, just showing up can lift you in ways you never expected!

Sometimes, you want to try to spice things up by combining a few things you love, but remember, you should always think of the WHY behind what you put your energy into.

The benefits of both RUCKING and SWIMMING are quite similar:

- Low impact and total body workout
- Increases bone density
- Long-duration cardio
- Builds endurance, muscle strength, and cardiovascular fitness
- Maintains physical resilience and builds mental resilience

Both are great ways to get in shape and get outside (or at least in a pool). But please keep them separate. If it is not obvious, we do NOT recommend wearing weights while attempting to swim.

Even if you walk the same path a hundred times, each time it will be different.

We have not yet had a Memento Ruckus event in the rain, but the weather forecast indicates that this Saturday likely will be our first, and I could not be more excited!

There is something about being in the woods in the rain that is incredible. The fresh smell, the gentle sounds, the vibrant colors that come out, and even getting home afterwards for a shower and proper dry off - it all really can help reset your mind and focus.

Step outside your comfort zone and fully live this life!

To make it a truly great experience, though, make sure you wear proper clothing:

🧦 wool socks
🩳 water-resistant pants or just shorts since it will be warm
Cover for your rucksack (but not necessary)

What does a 991-day Duolingo streak have to do with rucking?

Everything.

Am I fluent in Spanish? NO. πŸ˜… I'm still working on it. But 991 days in, I haven't quit. This app is not going to do it but I've layered in weekly immersive classes and I'm working on reading my second novel in Spanish to supplement.

Am I a fitness influencer? NO. And let's be clear, I never want to be. But staying healthy is important to me. These rucks along with weekly workouts, and daily walks with my dog, keep me accountable and building toward the goal.

Not every day looks the same. Not every day feels like progress. But you show up anyway.

That's the Memento Ruckus philosophy.

We're a networking club built on consistency - the kind that doesn't need a perfect morning or a perfect mood. Just a ruck, some good hiking shoes, and people who get it. The results come slowly and then all at once: better health, better connections, better conversations.

Maybe you won't become a fitness influencer. Maybe I won't become fluent in Spanish tomorrow.

But we'll both be a little further along than we were yesterday. And that's worth something.

4 miles in 3 degrees F, at 7:30 AM is no joke. πŸ₯Ά

We had some frozen hair and beards, but everyone came prepared, and we even had a new member join.

With the right motivation and preparation, you will be amazed at what you can accomplish.
