I haven't posted from here in a long time!
Since I found a whole tote full of track, and I thought I had none......
And since I have about 10 Plano tackle trays full of cars.....
And since my space is super limited, and I have very little company.....
I believe I have decided on this layout. I got it from our old buddy Greg Braun's website, hoslotcarracing.com
My first track came from Greg
It is on a 36"×80" door.
I went ahead and decided on 2 lanes because of the room, and you get a 52' lap with this layout. I do plan on doing this one correctly, in the aspect that I will use track borders instead of guardrails, and I will go ahead and wire the track for brakes, and a variable power supply. I am currently undecided as to my choice in lap timer systems. My 4 lane tracks have used the Viasue USB system. It was fine for the most part, but I always had problems with the track call button.
I don't want to get to tied up financially here. After all, ITS A DOOR TRACK! LOL But I would like a complete turn-key lap timer option.
If you are in one of the H.O. groups, give this post a like or something! I'd like to see who is out there!
If this post reaches "non-slot car" people, SORRY!!! 😜 I'm trying to see who this page is reaching!!

Doing a lot of work on the track right now. Soldered more connections, Adjustable power supplies, drivers stations, wired for brakes, better controllers. I am truly sick of fickle electrical and home set controllers. After setting up and getting everything going we managed to run complete races almost every night for about 2 1/2 weeks. Then everything went "to hell in a handbasket". I have scotch-brited, cleaned, soldered, cleaned, scotch-brited, till I'm ready to take a chainsaw to it and start over with brand new track!
As soon as the upgrades are finished I will be having races/Bbq's/Open practice sessions at my place!
The long term goal is to make my track 100% race ready, and to help get 2 or 3 or 4 places to race HO going in the Houston/Gulf Coast area. There have been a couple of people trying to do that for a few years now. Maybe this will be our year!
I would also like to start running my 1/32 and 1/24 stuff competitively this year again!

Well this is the new layout. BY FAR the best running layout I've put together yet. Every single track joint is perfect and tight. VERY, VERY SMOOTH! The track set up in my shed for at least a year, prob more.(on the coast so it's high, salty humidity ). The last layout just wasn't workin for me. I like this very much!

Time for a new layout. The last pic is the old layout. Do you like the new or old better?
