Elmhurst Su***de Prevention in Youth aims to establish a
welcoming environment where adolescents from all walks of life have access to mental healthcare. ESPY is committed to serving adolescents between the ages of 12-24, focusing on marginalized youth who frequently encounter barriers to care.
The goal is to decrease stigma associated with mental health and su***de and offer vital services of education, community outreach, workshops and su***de screening to help empower young people to care for their mental health. We collaborate with community organizations and schools to provide programming to increase accessibility and outreach.
Recognizing the importance of family involvement, the hospital works with caregivers through educational sessions, counseling and presentations aimed at reducing su***de risk through prevention. The approach is comprehensive, satisfying acute mental health needs and long-term well-being by providing adolescents and their families with the tools, information and support networks they require to thrive.
