Honored to be featured in this month’s Fashion Edition of Equestrian Living, alongside sculptor .
The story features our work at the estate of Nina Koloseike—former owner of Lamplight Equestrian Center in Chicago and a prominent performance horse owner—where landscape becomes composition, and every detail is designed to feel both effortless and enduring.
Also featured: highlights from our work at Hunter Farms in Princeton (lower right photo) and Another Chestnut Farm in Ocala—a 90% native planting approach designed for long-term performance and beauty.

Nature-forward designs by Equestrian Gardens.
Our work begins outside 🌲
At WEC, the gardens are beautifully crafted and carefully maintained by their gardening team. Each barn is anchored by a signature evergreen layered with lush groundcover that stays green even through winter, and framed by striking crape myrtles that, even without leaves, remain an architectural presence thanks to their sculptural form and beautiful bark.
Canterbury Farm happened to have one of the best locations at Barn T — the perfect place to begin outdoors and then thoughtfully carry that design language inside.
Before we design interiors, we study what already exists.
That philosophy guided our work at Canterbury. Inside, we echoed the surrounding landscape with living plants like bromeliads, orchids, and snake plants along with warm natural materials, layered textures, and a palette designed to quiet the eye and settle the nervous system.
Living plants matter. Unlike artificial decor, real plants respond to light, air, and care. They subtly improve air quality, regulate humidity, and introduce natural variation and movement — signals our nervous systems instinctively recognize as calming.
These rooms are living rooms for the barn — places to sit, think, meet, and reset.
Horses are extraordinarily sensitive to their environments. When the people who care for them move through calmer, more grounded spaces, that steadiness carries through the entire barn.
Wellness in an equestrian setting is holistic. It starts outside. It continues inside. And it lives in the harmony between people, place, and horse.
Thank you to Canterbury Farm and WEC for providing the canvas to bring this winter circuit barn to life.

What would you grow on your equestrian property?🌿🥕
This project started simply — a few unused square and rectangular planters, lined up neatly to give our client a place to start her vegetable garden.
From that humble beginning came a discovery: Ocala’s hot, hot summer sun demanded shade. So a pergola was added, designed to cool the space and frame the garden as a destination — not just a utility zone.
And what emerged?
✨ A flourishing food garden
✨ Moments of calm between busy barn days
✨ A place to gather, taste, and connect with the land
This is the magic of the modern equestrian property — where beauty supports function, nature fuels daily life, and thoughtful design transforms simple ideas into meaningful spaces.
Would you plant 🥕 carrots for your horses, heirloom tomatoes for family dinners, or a cut-flower patch for your tack room? 💐🐴 Tell me — what would fill your farm garden?
Now launching: Equestrian Gardens for 🌿✨
One of the most unexpected joys of this project?
Realizing our 2024/2025 plant palette thrived — standing the test of time through seasons, heat, storms, and show schedules.
Which means this year, we rebuilt faster than ever…
leaving more space for new ideas, new innovations, and more magic in the same beloved place.
Here’s to evolution, intention, and design that grows with the land. 🤍✨

Used > New. Always. ♻️
🐎 Horse-centered design → dual entrances/exits, level ground, clean/dry shavings, clutter-free spaces for horse safety
🚜 Designated spaces → honored by the horse show to minimize hazards, keep clear for barn service vehicles, and respect community space
🌳 Wood chips > dyed mulch (natural + healthy)
🌾 Straw bales = instant height + privacy (flexible + reusable)
🔄 Repurposed furniture + décor (used is chic + sustainable)
🏡 Local sourcing: Patuxnet & Landcraft > big box
🥬 Why cabbage & kale, not mums?
Kale & cabbage thrive through frost, hold bold color + texture, need less care, and can be reused at future shows 🌱 → mums fade fast and often end up as throwaway plants
🍂 Longevity: designs to thrive all season
🌵 Air plants = drought-friendly nod to CA guests
🎨 Integrated marketing = cohesive, welcoming vibe
🌿 Eucalyptus accents = fresh scent, soft movement, wellness feel
♻️ After the event: sod + wood chips stay for the equestrian center’s use, and plants/displays roll on to Harrisburg—less waste, more impact. 🌱 👉 Interested in rethinking your own farm or show setup? DM us to start planning.
