OUTSTANDING job by our 2 runners representing GHS XC and ending their seasons this morning in the foggy XC Regionals. Emerson Sewelin ran faster than he has ever ran a 5k! Kaidance Green ran over a minute and a half faster on the same course than she did earlier this year. Very proud of both of these athletes,

At GHS our XC team practices every Friday morning before school during the season. This Friday morning will be the same, our 2 athletes competing in Regionals on Saturday morning will be up and at em.
From 7:00 am-7:30 am we are inviting anyone in our community that is driving to work at this time to swing by the Garrett HS Track and "honk your horn" as you go by in support of these athletes. We have invited our teachers, staff, students, and families of the runners to do the same thing.

Regional Dinner for our 2 qualifying athletes and coaching staff at Lalos in Garrett. While going to pay we learned a community member paid for our entire meal. Blessed with wonderful athletes, coaches, and community members!

REGIONAL BOUND!!!!!!
Garrett XC was short handed this morning and we still got 2 athletes to Regionals in sophomore Kaidance Green and Junior Emerson Sewelin! Every runner put forth their best effort! We only had (4) female runners so no team score but all 4 were exceptional with K qualifying, Layla Ahdel, having never ran before, completing her freshman year by running almost 2 minutes faster than her first meet of the year, Sophomore Emerlynn Toney PR’ing and running 2 minutes faster on this exact same course than earlier in the year, and Phoebe Relue once again PR’ing by almost a minute!!! Running their last race of the year for the guys were Jackson and Joey Storm, Zander Treesh, Walden Sewelin and Eli”The GINGERbread Man” Wright. Zero seniors out of this young group,

Cross Country Sectionals tomorrow morning at West Noble high school! If you are free come support these athletes. These pictures describe our little team perfectly. We have the entire cafeteria and they all chose to sit at 1 table, TOGETHER. They tease each other like siblings but I will take this group any day of the week, very proud of every single one! Girls race starts at 9:30. A special thank you to Ben Armstrong and the Italian Grille for the AMAZING pre sectional dinner along with the families of the runners who have been the most supportive group of parents, THANK YOU! !

Our elementary has a running program that is top notch! Coach McCue invests so much time into these future high school runners, we are very appreciative of what her and her staff (do you even have staff Jackie) do to invest time into our young athletes. Below is a little bit about them, the kids finished their year last night with a 1 mile race on the high school cross country course. A very big thank you to the coaches, the parents and these young athletes that worked so hard!!!
Our runners competed at Angola's Hornet Hustle, Cadet Mile in Fort Wayne, Charger Mile at West Noble and our 2nd Annual Railroaders Run.

3rd Grade Girls: Top Runner with a time of 7:44- Kinly Molargik followed by Nattalia Melchi, Allison Storm, Monique Mobley, Madeline Curl, Tynsleigh Miller, Quinn Stebing, Sarah Hostetter and Florence Traster.
3rd Grade Boys: Top Runner with a time of 8:27 - Cole Crabill followed by Koltyn Hantz and Gideon Lukins.
4th Grade Girls: Top Runner with a time of 7:50- Ataliah McCue followed by Violet Armstrong, Harmony Gross, Luna Lopez, Mavis Baker, Fallyn Luke, Finnley Luke, KayLynn Miller, Emerson Blair, Aya Meyer, Colby VonDerau , Willow Gilbert and Melinda Lukins.
4th Grade Boys: Top Runner with a time of 7:24- Asher Armstrong followed by Hunter Hartman, Emmitt Hoeffel, and Henry Voltz.
5th Grade Girls: Top Runner with a time of 7:08- Riley Hillegass, followed by Karly Kraus, Kansas Miller
5th Grade Boys: Top Runner with a time of 7:25- Maxton Luke followed by Austin Best.

This is Coach Jackie's 2nd year leading this program and she's looking forward to a 3rd next year!

A great morning at today’s NECC XC Conference meet resulted in 2 Individual “ALL CONFERENCE” athletes for GHS. Kaidance Green had an AMAZING morning running her fastest race of the year by a minute! This resulted in an 11th place finish earning her All NECC Honors! Emerson Sewelin led the guys running just off his all time PR and placing 9th and earning himself All NECC Honors! Every athlete gave their all, Zander Treesh also set an all time PR and the athletes will now prepare for Sectionals in 2 weeks!
