We are 2 adventurous girls who love to get outside and explore. We have decided to make this into a Rules for the Hunt

Have fun and be respectful of other hunters. Our primary goal is to make an adventure for everyone involved- whether or not you are the final winner.
2. Do not remove any clues at any of the locations-don’t ruin the fun for anyone else. If anyone is caught removing or attempting to remove a clue, they will be removed from that hunt and any future hunts. Photographs of clues are allowed/encourage

d- removing or defacing them is not. We will have intermittent “scouts” monitoring.
3. Follow all county, state and federal laws. This includes no trespassing (all hunts will be on public property) and obey all traffic laws. This is a race to the finish but we do not condone speeding or traffic violations to beat other searchers.
4. We are a “low-tech” hunt- you will find the clues by getting out and physically searching. You will be walking in the woods, trails, parks, etc. We want you to “disconnect” as much as possible and enjoy your friends and family: walk in the outdoors, find a cool spot you have never been to, drive around the county and just enjoy the beautiful scenery.
5. Some clues may require knowledge of the area, history, county or city maps, or general facts, so we do recommend having the following for our hunt: map of the city and county, internet for research (and receiving the initial clue), vehicle for traveling, camera for taking image of the clues, notebook/pen for deciphering clues. A smart phone will be handy for easy internet access and taking photos- but it will not be necessary to scan codes, etc. Do not share the clues with anyone other than those in your search party. Our hunt is for those who purchased tickets- so to protect the integrity of the hunt, keep the clues to your group. If someone is caught posting the clues or sharing with people outside the group, they will forfeit their claim to the prize and can be banned from future hunts.
7. One ticket buys your admittance into that specific hunt. That ticket can be used for a single hunter or for a small group who would like to hunt together. We consider a small group to be a maximum of 4 adults (over the age of 18). How you split your prize is up to your group! We ask that the primary ticket holder be over 18. A parent may purchase the ticket for their dependent- if this occurs, the parent or guardian is agreeing to all the rules and liability waiver on behalf of their dependent.
8. The prize amount will be advertised for each hunt and will be estimated as close as possible to the actual value. Depending on the fluctuating price of gold and silver (or other gemstones), this may vary slightly but will be as close as possible to the advertised value. Cash prizes will be exact amounts.
9. The final location will have a tiny treasure chest near or beneath a green “A”. Enclosed in this chest is the information to take to the stated destination to unlock your treasure. We do have a public final destination in order to ensure the legitimacy of the hunt and hunters. To protect our hunters, we want only those who have opted into the hunt to be able to retrieve the treasure. We will be there waiting to congratulate you!
10. We ask that a picture of the winner be taken with the treasure for us to post to our Facebook and website. The primary reason behind this is we want complete transparency with our participants that there was an actual winner and the treasure was awarded. We will blur faces at your request. Feel free to post pictures of your adventure on our page. Show us the fun you are having!
11. The liability waiver has been read and by purchasing a ticket and participating in the event, you are agreeing to the liability waiver.
12. Refunds will be offered only up until 48 hours of the event.
13. Our hunt is expected to last less than a day. We anticipate 4 hours or less, although this is ultimately up to the participants. The treasure remains until we have a winner. Each hunt will be slightly different and anything specific will be sent with the initial clue.
14. We are excited about our hunt and plan to go forward, however we reserve the right to cancel for any reason. In that unlikely event, we will refund the cost of the ticket.
**Remember we are a new business- we are just two girls trying to put together a fun time for others to enjoy. We will do our absolute best to make this a fun adventure for you- but we know opinions and experiences vary. Please be patient with us as we grow this business- and feel free to email us to provide us some feedback on how we can do better in the future! Participant Liability Waiver

1. Participation in our event carries with it an inherent risk for injury. Our events take place outdoors and may include vigorous activity. There are risks that include (but not limited to): weather, terrain, environmental conditions, travel and overall physical condition of participants. By purchasing a ticket and participating in our event, you are assuming all the possible risks and releasing Adventurous Quests LLC from any liability, claims, demands, damages, costs/expenses in regards to any injury, loss, damages, or death that result from the participation in our event. You agree that your participation is voluntary. You confirm that you have read and understand this liability waiver and that you understand and consent to its terms in its entirety. This liability waiver shall be interpreted broadly to provide a release of liability to the maximum extent permissible under applicable law. If any provision in this release is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, it will not affect the remaining provisions.

2. In purchasing a ticket, you agree that you are 18 years of age and that all members of your team have read and agree to this liability waiver. If the participant is under 18 and you are the parent or guardian, you agree that you have read and understand the liability waiver on behalf of your minor dependent. You agree to take responsibility for your dependent and release AQ, LLC from any liability by the minor(s) participating in the event. You also affirm that all the individuals participating in the event will read and agree to the waiver and you have spoken with all the minor participants guardians who might participate under your purchased ticket.

Today's Otsego County hunt was a great first hunt for us! Our goal was to have the riddle be not too hard and not too easy... which is a hard thing to get just right! Our treasure was found in about 2 1/2 hours and just about what we were hoping for! Here is the riddle and a breakdown of the clues.

A lawful start to begin your journey,
It’s right if you are facing East,
Past the 10th letter gives you a sporting chance,
To a Love-ly stop,
Listen closely to what you have heard, open to learning
And through the links will be right,
Here our A will be tucked in the V of a tree.

Past the 10th letter gives you a sporting chance ("J" is the 10th letter of the alphabet- Jay's- go past Jay's)
To a Love-ly stop, (love=tennis- stop at the tennis courts at Aspen Park)
Listen closely to what you have heard, open to learning
And through the links will be right, (heard=herd- elk herd/elk trail, take it to the opening with the trail heading to the middle school, there is a chain link fence and disc golf course (2 references to link)- the treasure is immediately on the right)

Details: Join us for a fun, family-friendly adventure here in Otsego County. Clues will be emailed- we will send a test email May 14th at 6 pm. If you do not receive this email, please notify us so we can immediately fix this and get you in the hunt! First clue will be emailed at 10 am on May 15th. This clue can lead you to the treasure, however if it is not found by 1 pm, additional clues will be released hourly until it is found. You are searching for our "A" which will have further instructions for you to claim your prize that day! The treasure will not be buried- so please no digging. It will not be in a cemetery, inside a building of any kind, or on private property. Please be respectful of the locations you are visiting and have fun enjoying our beautiful Otsego County!
