Sun City TX Water Volleyball

Water volleyball rules generally involve teams of players trying to hit a ball over a net into the opposing team's court, with the goal of making it difficult for the other team to return it legally. Key rules include a limit on the number of hits per side, restrictions on net contact, and boundaries within the pool area.
Basic Rules:

• Team Size: Typically, water volleyball is played with 4-6 players per team, but it can be adjusted based on the pool size and available players.
• Hits per Side: A team is usually allowed a maximum of three hits to get the ball over the net, not including blocks.
• Net: Players cannot touch the net with any part of their body or clothing while the ball is in play.
• Out of Bounds: The ball is out of bounds if it hits the back boundary line, side of the pool, or deck.
• Serving: The serve can be made with one or two hands, and the ball can be hit underhand, sidearm, or overhead.
• Illegal Hits: Throwing or catching the ball is not allowed, and players cannot hit the ball twice in a row, unless it's a block.
• Scoring: A point is awarded when the ball lands in bounds on the opposing team's side and they are unable to return it legally, or when the opposing team commits a fault.
• Winning: The first team to reach a set score (e.g., 11, 15, or 21 points) wins the game, often needing to win by two points.
• Substitution: Teams can substitute players, usually when the ball is dead or during their own serve.
