Join us at Germantown MetroPark for "Nature at Night," a special after-hours event that explores the nocturnal side of nature and celebrates winter’s colder, darker, quieter aspects as part of the timeless rhythm of changing seasons.

This Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m., enjoy hot chocolate, campfire stories and s’mores, stargazing with the Miami Valley Astronomical Society, night hikes, glow-in-the-dark disc golf, and lots more! Bring a flashlight, grab your coat, and prepare for a memorable nighttime adventure!

Join us for a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the new extension for the Germantown MetroPark Pink Trail this Saturday, Nov. 15th at 10 a.m. Help us thank staff, donors, and dozens of volunteers who gave over 350 hours of time to the building of the extension! There will also be a hike immediately following the ceremony.

[03/19/12]   Germantown MetroPark is the most diverse and significant natural area managed by Five Rivers MetroParks. The size, quality, and age of the woodlands are exceptional. Steep topography and varied moisture gradients make for a variety of forest types and micro-habitats. Many species of plants and animals here are found nowhere else in Montgomery County. The park also contains large open grasslands, cedar glades, dry hillside prairies, all stages of natural succession, several ponds, and an exceptionally high quality stream, Twin Creek. Still surrounded largely by agricultural land and the wooded Twin Creek corridor, this 1665-acre MetroPark is filled with excellent opportunities to observe wildlife and a variety of outdoor recreation opportunities.
