Another successful workout with Noah! 💪🔥

And yep… he kicked my butt AGAIN. 😂

We started with a solid leg workout, then finished with a quick but intense WOD — shuttle runs + weighted step-ups. 🥵

Nothing fancy. Just hard work, good energy, and some father-son competition.

He’s getting stronger and faster…and apparently I’m going to have to step up my game just to keep up. 😂💪

Decline push-ups with a HOLD at the bottom to finish. 🔥

An amazing finisher for any chest workout—especially when you want to light up that upper chest.

Yes, it will burn.
Yes, it will hurt.
Yes, it will be uncomfortable.

But that’s the point. Control the reps, hold the bottom, embrace the burn, and finish strong. 💪🔥

90–100% of max heart rate. Welcome to the redline. 😂

Do you need to train here? For most people, **absolutely not**. You can build excellent cardiovascular fitness without constantly pushing yourself to your maximum.

But there is some cool physiology happening.

As exercise intensity increases, **heart rate increases and stroke volume—the amount of blood your heart pumps with each beat—initially increases too.**

In many untrained or moderately trained people, stroke volume eventually **levels off at submaximal intensities**, while heart rate continues climbing. But that plateau isn't universal. In well-trained endurance athletes, stroke volume can continue increasing all the way toward maximal exercise.

That means at very high intensities, increases in **cardiac output = heart rate × stroke volume** are increasingly driven by that rapidly rising heart rate.

So why am I hitting 90–100%?

Not because everyone needs to.

I do it because I still can, I enjoy testing the engine once in a while, and yes…apparently I enjoy a little pain. 😂

Train hard. Train smart. You don't have to redline every workout to build a strong heart.

First workout in my 50s! 💪 Heavy dumbbell Romanian deadlifts.

It’s not just about moving heavy weight—it’s about **control**, especially during the slow eccentric. Own every inch of the movement. 🔥

💪 Barbell Floor Press vs. Dumbbell Floor Press

Both are great for building your chest and triceps while limiting shoulder stress.

🏋️ **Barbell:** More stability, easier to load heavy, great for strength.

🔥 **Dumbbells:** More freedom of movement, each arm works independently, and you can use a neutral grip for a shoulder-friendly option.

Neither is “better” — use the one that fits your goals, or rotate both into your training.

Got tricked by my wife AGAIN! 😂 I was promised a walk… somehow we ended up running intervals. 🏃‍♂️🔥

That’s okay—thanks for kicking my butt! I think we crushed it. 💪❤️ Let’s go!

No weights. No fancy equipment. Just alternating step-ups. 🔥

They build leg strength, improve balance and coordination, raise your heart rate, and challenge your core.

All you need is your bodyweight and a sturdy chair, bench, or box.

Simple. Effective. Anywhere. 💪

Push jerks aren’t just about getting weight overhead. They train **power, speed, coordination, and full-body force production**.

The legs and hips create the drive, while the upper body finishes and stabilizes the load overhead. Compared with a strict press, the push jerk lets you move heavier loads by using the entire kinetic chain.

Explosive. Technical. Full-body. 💪

Hot and humid? ☀️💦 Don’t automatically use it as an excuse to sit still.

If you’re healthy, stay hydrated, adjust the intensity, and listen to your body—get out there and MOVE. 💪

Conditions don’t have to be perfect. Just be smart.

Another **NO EXCUSES** workout. 💪🔥

No gym. No fancy equipment. No perfect setup.

Just show up, move your body, and put in the work. You can train almost anywhere—you just have to start.

Stop waiting for perfect conditions. **Make it happen. Let’s go! 🔥**
