Meet Elise:

Elise Thea is an aerial originator with a stunning stage presence who blends circus, dance, and theater into compelling acts. She is most often seen on her specialty aerial apparatus, the aerial halo, but also creates art on fabric, hoop, trapeze, and chains. Her aerial work draws upon her extensive dance experience, which includes modern, ballet, Bharatanatyam, and various forms of African dance, as well as her theatrical training. A versatile artist, she has filled the Alamodome in San Antonio with her stage presence, entertained lively crowds from bar tops in San Francisco and Chicago, and performed with grace befitting her audience at the distinguished Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. Elise’s signature acts include unique, character-driven choreography with strong musicality. Currently based in the LA area, she enjoys walking her cat, bird watching, and creating small crafts to please her aesthetically driven heart.

Back in March 2014 Rachel and Brett opened Womack and Bowman - The Loft at a live/work apartment complex in North Hollywood. With just 2 aerial points and with Rachel living upstairs and the two of them teaching every class, the studio blossomed and soon outgrew it’s small loft apartment setting..

Fast forward 8+ years (and two expansions) The Loft has grown into a beautiful community with hundreds of dedicated students and an incredible staff of world class teachers 🥰

Prereqs: Ability to invert in the air multiple times in two hours, ability to stay in the air for up to two minutes, understanding of the fundamental locks/wraps: catcher, hip key, u-lock, s-lock, various footlocks, thigh hitch

It’s still magic, even if you know how it’s done... The allure of fabric is truly multi dimensional. It's beautiful, tactile and confusing. It can seemingly defy physics. Wraps, shelves and connections can appear and disappear in an instant. 
In this workshop we will dig deeply into 'fabric theory' - relating connections to one another all the while exploring some really fun examples of knots, hitches, releases and wraps that simply do not seem possible or are totally surprising to even an educated eye. This workshop is designed for those who love sneaky/brainy transitions.
