Some races are won in the final kilometers. had other plans.

He took the lead on the climb to Col de Bonhomme, around 40K in, and spent the rest of the day making the race his own. The gap grew, the mountains kept coming, and Ben never gave anyone a way back in.

After finishing second in 2025, Ben came back and finished the job.

What a way to return to Chamonix.

First across the line in Chamonix. 18:16:29 over 173.6 km and 9,700+ meters of climbing, the fastest time ever. Years of work went into this one. Today, it all came together.

Ahead of Friday’s race, we caught up with Rod Farvard about the months of training behind him, how he’s approached recovery, how he thinks about pacing, and what he’ll be focused on once the race gets underway.

This year carries a little more meaning, too. Rod will be racing in memory of his best friend, a fellow mountain athlete who recently passed away, and keeping him close through every mile in the mountains.
