One year after injury, is preparing for the biggest race of her season with a different perspective.

Training has become less about chasing personal bests and more about understanding what today’s version of herself can do compared to the athlete she was years ago. It’s a balance of pushing when it matters, recovering when it counts, and building a career that lasts.

Tomorrow, Josh Kerr steps onto the track with one goal: the mile world record.

In the final stretch of preparation last week: a four-mile run averaging 4:31 per mile, amd 4×150-meter sprints, nearly eight hours of sleep, and a midday nap, all while sleeping in a 10,000 ft elevation room.

None of these moments happen under the spot lights, but together they’ve shaped the preparation behind tomorrow’s attempt.
