Introducing: Ankle Breakers Juniors ⚽🔥

As we continue to grow OLé Futsal Club, we wanted to honor our history by bringing back a name that has been part of our journey from the very beginning.

The story starts in 2003 when OLé was first created as a training business, offering camps, clinics, and a juniors program. In 2006, OLé evolved into a soccer club. Whenever we entered 3v3 tournaments or futsal events, our teams competed under the name OLé Ankle Breakers.

The term “Ankle Breakers” was always an inside joke within our club. In soccer culture, an ankle breaker is a player who beats a defender so badly with a move, feint, or dribble that it looks like they broke their ankles. It represents creativity, confidence, courage, and the ability to solve problems on the ball.

In 2012, when we launched our futsal club, we carried that tradition forward by naming it ABK Futsal Academy. What many people never realized was that ABK stood for Ankle Breakers.

The OLé name has always represented a style of play built on possession, creativity, flair, and the joy of outplaying opponents. Ankle Breakers represents those same values.

Today, we are bringing that history full circle.

We are proud to introduce Ankle Breakers Juniors — a program rooted in our past and designed to inspire the next generation of creative, confident players.

Sometimes the best way forward is to remember where you started.

Announcing... the 2026 USYF Michigan State Futsal Championship!

This coming December 2026, the top youth futsal teams in Michigan will come to Grand Rapids for a championship event sanctioned by US Youth Futsal and co-hosted by OLé Futsal Club and Midwest United FC, with matches taking place at venues across the city, including the new Limitless Arena in downtown Grand Rapids.

US Youth Futsal has become the gold standard in the youth futsal space, and bringing the official State Championship to Grand Rapids is a major moment for players, families, and clubs across Michigan. Through this partnership, OLé and Midwest United continue to invest in the growth of futsal by creating meaningful, high-level opportunities for players right here at home.

For years, there has been a clear gap in Michigan, with no officially sanctioned USYF tournament bringing together the top futsal clubs in the state to compete ahead of regional and national competition. That changes now with the launch of the official USYF Michigan State Championship.

With OLé Futsal Club and Midwest United FC co-hosting, this event is set to deliver the highest level of competition in the state and establish a strong foundation for years to come.
