Happy Valentine’s Day ❤️‍🔥

I think it’s important to acknowledge that showing up is hard right now. Some days, it’s hard to show face being a service provider, knowing that people are relying on me.

Although the weight of the world feels so heavy right now, it’s only encouraging me to fight x10 harder.

The communities of Black, Brown and Palestinian people don’t have the privilege to log off and “protect their peace.” You’ll live another day to witness these mass executions, they don’t know if they’ll make it past breakfast.

Whether you “do politics” or not, it’s only a matter of time before this affects you, your neighbors, and your communities. Staying silence is being complicit

Join me this Sunday, January 25th for a community run and walk led by She Runs Grand Rapids! I’ve teamed up with Yogi Union to help kick off the event with a mini stretch and yogi session.

This is a FREE event! Did you know that World of Winter is the largest winter festival in the United States? Running from January 9th to March 1st, experience art installations, interactive exhibits and live performances around Downtown Grand Rapids.

Curated by Rianna Castelow, the owner of Asana with Rianna, 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 is a vinyasa yoga pop-up rooted in intentional movement, stress relief, and human connection. Hosted in real-life spaces, the experience is designed to support community well-being and create meaningful visibility for partner businesses and brands.

Taking some time to reflect on the last decade of life. In 2016, I completed my first Habitat for Humanity build. Community support and volunteering are things that are important to me. Since moving to Grand Rapids in 2020, I’ve tried to volunteer for 1 new organization every year.

As Asana with Rianna continues to grow, I promise to continue to use my platform to uplift, support, and grow my local businesses and communities.

I’ve joined the team at Yogi Union 💚

Yogi Union is a teacher-driven, student-centered, cooperative yoga movement. They provide a community for yoga teachers to cultivate an authentic voice to share their practice while also creating a welcoming and inclusive space for students to discover and learn.

I strongly feel this studio aligns with my values and I am beyond grateful for this opportunity.

I moved to Grand Rapids in 2020.

I was fresh out of a 4 year relationship, eager to find who Rianna truly was.

I learned a lot about myself in that relationship. I realized that if I wanted things to change in my life, I needed to spring into action.

I’ve been plant-based since 2013 and in 2021, I converted to a vegan lifestyle. Although, I was plant-based, I was living very unhealthy. Eating fast food, partying, not taking care of my body the way I know I should.

In high school, I was an All-State 300m Hurdler. I loved competing, but I gave that up once I reached my college years. I found my passion for running again when I joined Lyon Street Run Club in January 2024. My love for the sport led me to running 5ks again, my first 10k and 25k and becoming an ambassador for my first ever half marathon!

Once you embark on the journey of a healthier lifestyle, you shed those bad habits that no longer serve you. In 2021, I gave up ni****ne and in 2024, I quit drinking alcohol.

New Year’s Resolutions are “stupid” because you don’t uphold those promises you make to yourself. “You must be the change you wish to see in the world” I am breaking generational stereotypes within my community and setting the foundation for my future self and family.

Whether you start today, tomorrow, or the day after… JUST START.
