12 Hours of Movement Misery includes a costume contest and the costumes do not disappoint💀 Grab your partner and plan your costumes for 12HMM
🗓️Saturday August 15 at 8 AM-8 PM.
📍ALL GYMS
Here is a breakdown on how to get started for 12HMM:
Step 1: Find your partner: ‘Cause misery loves company, of course. You and your partner can be different ages, genders, or skill levels-but everyone must be 13 or older to compete! If you and your partner are in different skill categories, you’ll register for the team award in the category of the stronger climber.
Step 2: Come up with a fun team name & costume: There will be a costume contest at the after-party with a prize for the winners! Feel free to go all out here and let your creativity shine, the bigger the better! Don’t let us down.
Step 3: Sign up! You and your partner will sign up as a team. Your ticket gets you a t-shirt (while supplies last), entry into the competition, access to our after-party at the Plano location, and entry to our raffle. The gym you choose will be the gym you start your day at 8 AM! Space at each gym for starting is limited, so register quickly to get your preferred start point. Pay attention to where you register- once you select a location, we cannot move you!
Categories:
The top 3 teams in each category will receive awards at the after-party! Pick the difficulty category with the hardest grade you have ever sent. Don’t be a sandbagger and put yourself in a category lower than you or your partner climb. We will find you, and we will bump you. (Reminder: if you and your partner are of different skill levels, pick the category of the stronger climber. Note that the team awards are not gendered – so compete with whomever you want!)

Saturday, July 18 from 10 AM-6 PM!
A little bit about Mo Beck:
Mo Beck is a National Geographic Adventurer of the Year and IFSC world champion who climbs at an elite level with one hand — and makes it look like solving a puzzle. She invented her own techniques from scratch, summited the Lotus Flower Tower in the Cirque of the Unclimbables, and chairs the USAC Paraclimbing Committee. Her story was featured in the documentary Stumped.

12 Hours of Movement Misery 2026:
REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN🔥
The day of days is upon us for our annual 12 hour competition, open to climbers of all levels (members and nonmembers alike)!
From 8 AM-8 PM on Saturday, August 15, you and a partner of your choosing will tour all DFW Movement locations and climb as many routes and boulders as possible. If you were stuck on an island with one friend, who would you bring? That should be your partner – this comp is not for the faint of heart.
(JK, it’s for everyone, but this sounds way cooler, right?)
This year our awards will be happening at Plano starting at 8:30 PM
How it works:
Step 1: Find your partner: ‘Cause misery loves company, of course. You and your partner can be different ages, genders, or skill levels-but everyone must be 13 or older to compete!
Step 2: Come up with a fun team name & costume: There will be a costume contest at the after-party with a prize for the winners! Feel free to go all out here and let your creativity shine, the bigger the better! Don’t let us down.
Step 3: Sign up! You and your partner will sign up as a team. Your ticket gets you a t-shirt, entry into the competition, and an entry to our raffle. The gym you choose will be the gym you start your day at 8 AM! Space at each gym for starting is limited, so register quickly to get your preferred start point.
This year’s shirt design pictured (by Hank St John, of course🔥) draws inspiration from the first 12 Hours of Summit Suffering shirt designed by Hank in 2016, which was inspired by medieval art. The Hellmouth represents the entrance to 12 hours of plastic-pulling misery.
LET THE SUFFERING CONTINUE!💀
