🏁 ROAD AMERICA WEEKEND SERIES RACE #1 RECAP 🏁
📍 Briggs & Stratton Motorplex at Road America
What a day at Road America.
The first weekend series race turned into an all-out heavyweight fight between two young drivers who refused to give each other an inch; Evan Liesch and his buddy/rival Liam Fohr put on a show all day long in both Sportsman and Mini Swift.
Every session felt like a prizefight.
Every lap mattered.
And every time one driver answered, the other came swinging back.
In Sportsman, Evan and Liam traded speed all day but Liam came out on top of the heat races
🔥 Heat 1 — P2
🔥 Heat 2 — P2
But the Feature became a battle of patience, precision, and nerve. Evan stayed glued to the fight, kept the pressure on, and when the checkered flag flew, he delivered. Clean driving. Smooth hands. Veteran-level composure from a young driver.
🏆 SPORTSMAN FEATURE WIN — P1
Then came Mini Swift, where the competition somehow got even tighter. Evan and Liam were once again right in the middle of the action, pushing each other lap after lap and forcing each other to find more speed every time they hit the track.
⚡ Heat 1 — P2
⚡ Heat 2 — P1
Intensity was at another level for the feature. Evan drove a smart, calculated race while holding off constant pressure in an absolute battle at the front. When it was over, ELR stood on top once again.
🏆 MINI SWIFT FEATURE WIN — P1
Two classes.
Two Feature wins.
One unforgettable day of racing.
And honestly, days like this are what karting is all about; two young racers pushing each other to be better every single lap. Huge respect to Liam Fohr and his team for battling hard and racing clean all day long.
The Road America crowd got a front-row seat to the future of racing today… and those kids absolutely delivered. 🏁🔥
We can never thank our sponsors enough!!!

You see a kid in a go-kart and think…
“How cute.”
“A fun little hobby.”
“Something to pass the time.”
You see a dad working on the kart in the pits and think…
“Just tinkering.”
“Just racing.”
You see a mom in the stands, filming, cheering, packing snacks and think…
“Just watching.”
But what you don’t see is everything behind it.
You don’t see the late nights in the garage
when everyone else is inside… and they’re still chasing one more adjustment.
You don’t see the money quietly shuffled around
to make sure tires get replaced, parts get ordered, entry fees get paid.
You don’t see the long drives home
where the car is quiet…
because not every race ends the way they hoped.
You don’t see the kid replaying every lap in their head
wondering what they could’ve done better.
Or the parents choosing their words carefully…
because they’re building a driver,
but more importantly, they’re raising a person.
Because go-kart racing?
It’s not just laps around a track.
It’s discipline.
It’s heartbreak.
It’s learning how to lose
without losing yourself.
It’s learning how to win
without forgetting who helped you get there.
It’s family dinners eaten out of coolers.
It’s sunburns and sweatshirts in the same day.
It’s a life lived between trailers, tools, and checkered flags.
And those kids?
They’re not just driving.
They’re learning how to handle pressure.
How to stay focused when everything in you wants to panic.
How to get back out there… even after a bad run.
So no… it’s not “just a hobby.”
It’s early mornings.
It’s sacrifices.
It’s everything we don’t post about.
It’s a family sport in every sense of the word.
Because behind every kid on that track…
is a whole crew
who gave up a lot
just to watch them chase it.
And if you’ve ever sat in those stands,
heart racing with them every lap…
you already know
this life isn’t simple.
But we’d choose it
every single time. 🏁

🎙️ RACE RECAP 🎙️
Route 66 Sprint Series Regional Race @ New Castle Motorsports Park in New Castle, Indiana
We traveled to New Castle Motorsports Park where Evan took on a new challenge this weekend: two classes, a track he’d never raced, and an extremely competitive field in the Route 66 Regional Series.
From the start, the pace was there. Evan showed top 5 speed in both Sportsman and Mini Swift, but the focus quickly shifted to learning, figuring out lines, adapting to the track, and making steady gains each session.
Off the track, that meant time spent reviewing video and making small adjustments. The Franklin Kart team worked through changes to keep the kart balanced as conditions evolved, and by the finals, everything came together.
The Sportsman class proved to be the finish of the weekend.

Margin of victory? .001 seconds
(On-board video from Evan’s kart in the comments)
🏁 RESULTS:
* 🥈 P2 — Sportsman
* 🥈 P2 — Mini Swift
All in all, a solid weekend: new track, two classes, and two podiums. A lot learned, a lot gained, and a good foundation to build on heading into the next round at Norway Motorsports Park in June 🏁
We can never thank our sponsors enough!!!

🎙️ ELR Race Recap — USPKS Round 1 @ Trackhouse Motorplex
Lights. Speed. Pressure. Welcome to national-level racing.
From the first laps on Thursday, Evan showed he belonged. Practice sessions had him flirting with the top 15, and even knocking on the door of the top 10 against one of the deepest MiniSwift fields in the country. The speed was real. The confidence was building.
Then racing reminded us how unforgiving it can be.
An unavoidable crash in Heat 1 not only had us visiting with the EMTs but changed the trajectory of the weekend and not just on the timing sheets, but mentally. When you’re asking a 10-year-old driver to reset, refocus, and reattack at this level… that’s a different kind of race.
What followed wasn’t perfect. It certainly wasn’t easy. But it mattered.
Through adversity, Evan kept digging. Lap by lap, session by session, the weekend became less about results and more about growth. Adjustments were made. Lessons were learned. And most importantly, resilience was built.
We didn’t leave Trackhouse with the finish we wanted…
But we left better than we arrived.
And that’s what champions are built on.
Now, the focus shifts.
The foundation is set.
And we’re ready to roll into our local and regional series stronger, sharper, and more prepared than ever.
As always; love to our sponsors for allowing us the ability to do what we love

Evan Liesch Racing Recap
Trackhouse Motorplex Double Header
Back in NASCAR country for the Trackhouse Motorplex Double Header, Evan Liesch Racing returned to one of the most competitive battlegrounds in karting….and the level has only gone up.
Friday practice showed immediate gains. Lap times dropped in both the 2-stroke and 4-stroke classes, but it quickly became clear: the local drivers hadn’t just improved - they’d evolved. With thousands of additional laps since our last visit just weeks ago, the gap wasn’t just speed… it was seat time.
And this weekend? The field was stacked.
With a Double Header format and USPKS right around the corner, teams showed up in force. The competition wasn’t just deep, it was relentless.
Evan battled through it all with the help of Mpg motorsports
🏁 4-Stroke Finals: P7 & P8
🏁 2-Stroke Finals: P11 & P12
Not the finishing positions we came for but weekends like this build something more important: racecraft, data, and experience that can’t be replicated anywhere else.
And the weekend didn’t end at the track.
A historic Midwest blizzard forced a delayed trip home, but sometimes racing luck shows up in unexpected ways — two snow days meant no school missed.
📈 Takeaway: The results don’t tell the full story. The growth does

Evan Liesch Racing’s First Visit to
Trackhouse Motorplex in Mooresville, NC
🎙️ “Under Carolina skies and deep inside NASCAR country, one young driver came to work.”
The weekend at Trackhouse Motorplex wasn’t about comfort - it was about learning, adapting, and proving speed on unfamiliar ground.
New track. New competition. Same mission.
Get faster every session.
🎬 Friday - Finding Speed
The paddock came alive early.
Engines barked to life. Crew chiefs leaned over chassis adjustments. Drivers rolled through staging lanes preparing for battle.
For Evan Liesch and the Mpg motorsports crew, Friday was about building momentum - learning every braking zone, every apex, every ounce of grip the Carolina asphalt would give.
Session by session… the speed came.
🏁 Saturday - Race Day Intensity
Morning Class: 2-Stroke Mini Swift
Afternoon Class: 4-Stroke Cadet / Green Slide
Against a stacked field of local drivers - many who’ve raced here since they were barely out of diapers - Evan rolled onto the Trackhouse surface for the first time ever.
No shortcuts. No favors.
Every position had to be earned.
🟢 Started: P11 / 24
🏁 Finished: P5
⬆️ +6 Positions Gained
A calculated, mature drive showing patience, racecraft, and relentless pace.
⚡ Afternoon Session
Momentum continued.
🔥 Fastest time in practice
🏁 Qualified: P5
The pace was there
But racing has a way of testing resilience.
A hard push into Turn 2 resulted in contact with the barrier, breaking a spindle and ending the day earlier than hoped.
Not the finish we wanted - but an important statement weekend.
💬 The Takeaway
First visit to a New track with Elite local competition.
And Evan Liesch proved he belongs in the fight.
Speed was found. Confidence gained. Momentum building.

🏁 ELR Off-Season Update🏁
While most drivers are parked for the winter… we’re putting in laps.
Off-season doesn’t mean off-work.
We’re down in Orlando, where the weather still allows karting, Evan is stacking laps, dialing in race craft, and sharpening every detail; braking points, race starts, consistency, fitness, and mindset. 🌴☀️
Championships aren’t won in the summer.
They’re built in the off-season.
Cold back home. Hot laps in Florida.
No shortcuts. Just work.
2026 isn’t going to know what hit it.
