HOLY SMOKES… THE COVE CAME TO PLAY THIS WEEKEND! 🔥⚾💙

Last weekend we learned.
This weekend we RESPONDED. 💪

And BOY did these boys respond.

16-4. 🔥
21-0. 🔥
Day 1 - DONE.
#1 SEED heading into Sunday! 👏

Sunday came and the boys picked up right where they left off - another 5-0 WIN to punch their ticket to the Championship! 🏆

The bats were ON FIRE. 🔥
The defense showed up.
The boys battled, competed and played for each other.

Then came one heck of a Championship game.

And wouldn’t you know it… ONE inning. 😩😂

One tough inning changed the game, and we fell just short of bringing home the championship. But THAT’S BASEBALL. One inning can change everything, and learning how to fight through those moments is exactly how a team gets better.

So boys, KEEP THOSE HEADS HIGH. 💙

🥈 2ND PLACE in only your SECOND 13U TOURNAMENT is something to be PROUD of!

Because the biggest win this weekend wasn’t the hardware…

It was the PROGRESS.

From last weekend to this weekend, the difference was HUGE. And if we can make that kind of jump in ONE WEEK… just imagine where this team can go. 👀🔥

We know fall is a busy season. Football, school sports, other teams, family commitments — and we also know that kids shouldn’t have to give up one sport they love just to continue playing another.

The Cove 13U Elite is looking to add a couple of talented, competitive players to our roster, and we are absolutely open to multi-sport athletes!

Already committed to another sport or team this fall but still want to play travel baseball? Come talk to Coach David. We understand that there may be practices or even an occasional tournament you can’t make, and we’re building a roster that gives our players that flexibility without putting pressure on one another or the team.

We want kids who:
⚾️ Love baseball
🔥 Want to compete
💪 Want to continue developing
🤝 Are great teammates
🏈 And may just happen to love another sport too!

You can be committed without having to choose only ONE thing.

Wellllll… our first 13U tournament is officially in the books! 💙⚾

Was it the ending we wanted? Nope.
Are we hanging our heads about it? ABSOLUTELY NOT.

I’m blaming the last few weeks of rain… JUST KIDDING. 😂🌧️ Yesterday there wasn’t a rain cloud in sight until the very end of the day - it was HOT, and I think our boys may have still been half asleep when that first game started.

But as the weekend went on, THE COVE started waking up. 🔥

Game 2, they fought.
And today? Our boys came to PLAY. 💪💙

They jumped ahead, played some GREAT baseball, hit a rough inning that put us behind, and then did exactly what we want to see from them…

THEY FOUGHT BACK.

They battled all the way to the end and came SO close to pulling off the comeback. We fell just a little short, and unfortunately, that means we’re heading home.

But here’s the thing…

This was tournament #1.
Our FIRST tournament on the big 13U field. We made it to the Gold bracket. We’re learning. We’re adjusting. We’re growing. And most importantly - WE’RE JUST GETTING STARTED. 💙🖤🤍

So this week, rain or shine 🌧️☀️, it’s back to work.

We’ll practice harder.
We’ll learn from it.
We’ll clean up the mistakes.
And next weekend, we come back STRONGER. 💪🔥

Because you don’t become great by never falling behind…
You become great by learning how to FIGHT your way back.

Great job, boys! Keep those heads HIGH. Be proud of the fight you showed today, because we sure are.
