Today was one of those games we’ll be talking about for a long time.

We experienced some of the worst sportsmanship we’ve ever seen from adults at a youth baseball game this weekend. Coaches arguing with umpires, Umps wanted to end the game because coaches can’t just let the kids play. Why ruin the game for 12-year-old boys? Creating an atmosphere that no kid should have to play in. We got it pretty bad from two teams.
This was from the other team we played before the championship game.

Were there missed calls? Absolutely. On both sides, every game.

Moving on to the 2nd team, the championship game…

In fact, our boys turned what should have been a game-ending double play in the championship game, but the third out wasn’t called. We had it on video, and even the umpire later apologized. Because of that missed call, two runs scored that never should have.

But that’s baseball.

Our boys didn’t hang their heads. They didn’t make excuses. They didn’t blame the umpires.

They fought.

Down to the last outs, they battled back to tie it 7-7 and forced a Texas Tie Breaker.

With storms rolling in, the other coach asked if we could just end the game in a tie. Both teams winning! A Championship??? I’ll admit, it was discussed. It was blazing hot, we’d been at the ballpark since 6:00 this morning, and everyone was exhausted.

Then our boys spoke up…

“Let us play.”

That’s all we needed to hear.

One more inning.

One more chance.

As the away team, we put up two runs and then had to hold them. Our boys dug deep, played with heart, and finished what they started.

Final score:
The Cove 9 – Ponte Vedra Sharks 7.

After one incredible baseball game, we applauded both teams because every one of those boys played their hearts out.

Unfortunately, not every adult chose to do the same. Watching a coach, who threw his hat in the dugout & refuse to shake the hands of 12-year-old kids was disappointing. That’s not the example our children deserve.

At The Cove, we teach our boys that character matters just as much as championships. Win with humility. Lose with class. Respect the game, respect the umpires, respect your opponents, and always remember these kids are watching how we respond.

To the Sharks players, you boys played one heck of a baseball game. Keep competing, keep working hard, and keep loving the game.

And to our boys…

You proved today that adversity doesn’t define you.

Character does. We are so proud of you 💙⚾

You boys did it! #1 💪🤩💙

WOW… JUST WOW. 🏆🏆

Two tournaments. TWO CHAMPIONSHIPS.

This brand-new group of boys just proved that when talent meets heart, incredible things happen.

What you witnessed this weekend wasn’t just great baseball, it was a TEAM in every sense of the word.

They battled every inning.
They never gave up.
They picked each other up after every mistake.
And the same boys who made an error would come right back and make the next big play. That’s what champions do.

The championship game was everything you’d hope for. Two extra innings in a Texas Tie-Breaker against an outstanding opponent, and these boys refused to quit. They fought for every pitch, every out, every run… and they walked away with the hardware. 🏆

The umpires couldn’t believe they were watching mostly 11 and 12-year-olds (with only a couple of new 13-year-olds). Their composure, grit, baseball IQ, and heart were beyond their years.

To our coaches - you’ve built something special.

To our parents and families - you should be incredibly proud.

To everyone cheering from home - you were with us every inning, and these boys gave you a show worth watching.

These kids aren’t just winning baseball games…
They’re becoming brothers.

They’re playing for each other.
They’re trusting each other.
They’re having FUN together.
And that chemistry is becoming something truly dangerous.

They’re taking down some of the best teams around, and they’re doing it the right way- with class, confidence, hustle, and heart.

This is Championship #2… but something tells me these boys are just getting started.

Next stop… Pigeon Forge.

The Cove isn’t coming to participate…
We’re coming to compete.

Let’s keep the fire burning, boys. Stay humble. Stay hungry. Keep believing in each other.

We’re unbelievably proud of every single one of you.

💙🖤⚾️ THE COVE IS ON FIRE! ⚾️🖤💙

💣💥 BOMBS AWAY! 💥💣

SIX. HOME. RUNS. 🤯🔥

Not one…
Not two…
Not three…
Not four…
Not five…

SIX BOMBS launched by The Cove! 💪⚾️

💥 Landon #10 stayed red hot with back-to-back days of leaving the yard! And, one was a Grand Slam! Grand Slam yesterday, then a homer in the Championship Game when the team needed it most. That’s CLUTCH! 🧨

💥 Dixon #2 wasn’t satisfied with one… he CRUSHED TWO HOME RUNS IN THE SAME GAME! 😤

💥 Renlei #14 got the fireworks started yesterday with a moonshot of his own! 🎆

💥 Noah #7 joined the party today and sent one over the fence! 🚀

These boys came to the ballpark with one thing on their minds… ATTACK. They stayed locked in, trusted each other, and let those bats do the talking.

When The Cove gets rolling, look out… because baseballs start disappearing! 💣⚾️

We couldn’t be more proud of these young men and the work they’re putting in. Keep swinging, keep believing, and keep playing for each other.

6 Home Runs. One Team. One Family. THE COVE. 🌊💙

💙 TURF SMURF WEEKEND ⚾️ LET’S GO, BOYS! 💙

One last stop before Pigeon Forge. One more chance to sharpen the sword. One more weekend to prove who The Cove is.

Blue on our backs, dirt on our cleats,
Heart of a champion, never accept defeat.

When one boy falls, ten pick him up,
That’s what happens when a team is built on trust.

Play for your brothers, play for the name,
Every pitch, every inning, attack the game.

Stay locked in. Stay hungry. Stay tough.
When things get hard, get harder than the stuff.

Confidence high, heads held tall,
The strongest teams answer every call.

No selfish moments. No hanging heads.
Win together. Lose together. Forward instead.

From the dugout to the diamond, let everyone see,
Nobody fights harder than the boys from TC.

Now saddle up, boys, it’s your turn to perform,
Bring the thunder, bring the fire, bring the storm.

Because Pigeon Forge is coming and the countdown is real…

THIS WEEKEND WE DON’T JUST PLAY BASEBALL…

WE BUILD MOMENTUM.
WE BUILD CONFIDENCE.
WE BUILD BROTHERHOOD.

💙🖤 TC ON THREE. FAMILY ON SIX. THE COVE FOREVER. 🖤💙
