We had a great turnout and an excellent match last Friday. It was nice to see so many new players including a few from the Winston Salem club. It has stopped raining and tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and warm. The field could be a little soggy, but that shouldn't deter us from playing. Remember to bring one light/white shirt and one dark shirt, a helmet, a mallet if you have one, maybe a cooler with your preferred beverage. I will have food and a cooler of beer at my house after the match. I hope you and your families can stay and hang out for a while. I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow night. Please forward this to any guests/new players. We will play in the section of Lake Daniel Park that is next to the tennis courts as usual.

I recently watched a video of a hard court match that showed a bunch of crashes. It reminded me of the bent digits that pained me after our last match. The hard court players were wearing more padded gloves, kneepads, shin guards, and facemasks than I remember seeing before. While it's obvious that a helmet is a must, you might also consider some extra padding/protection. Be it padded gloves, kneepads, or bubble wrap, it's all certainly worthwhile. I think I'll pick up some used lacrosse gloves at Play It Again. I hope to see you on the 16th.
