I recently lost my spark in the gym and in life for a bit too. After a really tough year and stepping into a new role at the gym, finding the time and energy to train became harder than I expected. Somewhere along the way, I fell out of love with the very thing that opened the door to this career for me.

Now I am rehabbing my shoulder again and working to rediscover that spark. All of this is a reminder that it happens to all of us. What matters is that you can always start again. Even if you have to start over, that is okay. Come back stronger, more motivated than ever, and kick some ass.

Let’s chat core for a sec..

(and no I’m not talking about abs)

When I’m training core or having my clients train core, I am talking DEEP core. This makes up muscles you don’t really see (transverse abdominals, pelvic floor, diaphragm, and multifidus) and is crucial when it comes to stability in movement. It is soooo important to train these muscles to help with posture, correct form, breathing, preventing injury, & even bladder and bowel control. A strong core will help with all of these. And, yes, that goes for the moms who p*e every time they sneeze now because it IS preventable and shouldn’t be normalized.

I know everyone wants a flat stomach or abs, but those goals have a lot more to do with your diet than the exercises you do. I want to see you strong and training things properly so comment below if you want to know how to improve your core strength.
