Hoping to ride Paris Mtn trails on Fri. Looks like you need to connect several trails? Preferred route, direction? Tips appreciated. (Experienced rider from DuPont/Pisgah. Looking for 1.5-2 hrs.)
Get your raffle ticket before they are gone. We are only giving out 200 tickets to win $1600 of Shimano components. Help support nonprofit helping veterans cope with PTSD by using recreational therapy of Mountain biking.
Hey! I own a small in Clemson, SC company making shirts, hats with leather and full color patches, tumblers, bottle openers and much more! I just wanted to see if you needed anything. I’m trying to grow my business so I would love to work with you! If you would like to see some of my work here is a link to my group! https://www.facebook.com/groups/bryarandcompany
Someone left a rather large pair of mtb shoes in the lot at JFA today. I put them by the map sign.
Stumphouse Mountain Bike Park received almost 2 inches of rain. Trails are closed until Wednesday May 27th .
Stumphouse Mountain Bike Park is closed until.Saturday due to wet trail conditions. Thanks for respecting our trails and not riding mud!!!
Pleasant Ridge still open to ride?
FYI - Dupont State Forest is temporarily closed.
How would I organize a spring weekend event in Fountain Inn. 400 acres available miles of horse/bike trails. Wanting to have mtn bike race, disc golf tourney. Live music and camping all weekend. Who does organization for bike races?
Is there anyone on here that might be interested in doing a 3-4 day bikepacking trip sometime in the late April - mid June time frame, before it gets too hot? I was looking at doing a portion of the Trans VA route which runs from DC to Damascus VA. The whole route is 550 miles, but I would be into doing about half of that. I would not be opposed to putting a van-supported trip together, so we don't have to carry as much stuff. This route is mostly unpaved roads and is not technical, so it can be done on a mountain or gravel bike. Although not technical, this would be a solid 6-8 hours of riding per day.
Tickets are available now for our Inaugural Coaches Summit!
Is there a trail conditions page to watch? I am having trouble finding information. Thank you!

Upstate SORBA (Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association) is a chapter of IMBA/SORBA for the Upstate Region of South Carolina & is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit org

The Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association (SORBA) is the largest nonprofit mountain biking organization in the Southeast. Our members work with land managers in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee to create trails and trail systems for mountain bikers and other users to enjoy. Through advocacy, education, and recreational opportunities, SORBA carries out its mission to promote land access, trail preservation, and new trail development in order to enhance mountain bike touring, racing, fun, and fellowship for all mountain bicyclists in the southeastern United States. We have partnered with the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) and now represent over 4,000 members who help steward miles and miles of great trails in a seven-state area. The best riding in the Southeast is found on trails maintained by our volunteers. Our members love singletrack, rocks, roots, and logs, and we employ IMBA's trailbuilding practices to ensure that our trails are sustainable and challenging. IMBA-SORBA relies on our wonderful members to carry out our mission. Our volunteers donate thousands of hours each year to advocate for trail access, build trails, and maintain trails. Join IMBA-SORBA today!

Members will receive special regional eNews and other great benefits. “It just made sense to work more closely together," says Tom Sauret, SORBA Executive Director. Operating as usual

Freeze thaw conditions persist in Pisgah and DuPont. #respectheresource and stay off of trails experiencing freeze thaw. Thanks to Pisgah Area SORBA for this knowledge drop.

It's that time of year when freeze thaw is in full effect. Dupont State Forest has closed single track trails though 1/15, Forest Service Roads in Pisgah are closed due to their condition, and Bent Creek/Mills River are suffering from the same sloppy symptoms of freeze thaw. Please respect the trails right now and find another activity. If there weren't advocacy groups like ours to fund for maintenance + repair, including the volunteers to do the work, we would lose our trails. The Forest Service is allocated very little resources to keep up with such well loved trails. It's a priveledge to have such amazing singletrack, so let's honor that!

@trillwill03 dropped some knowledge about our clay soils here in WNC explaining that their nature is to reharden into whatever shape they took while wet, so ruts don't fix themselves. Meanwhile, they act as a vessel to hold more water next time it rains and they facilitate the movement of water down the trail contributing to more erosive tendencies. This results in more repair + more maintenance over time in an area whose governance has limited resources directed towards those initiatives.

Under normal circumstances we would encourage you to volunteer with us, but COVID has affected our reality and has limited our trail work hands drastically. So instead, we are welcoming you contribute to our patreon to help US have the funding + resources to continue to repair + maintain the trails you love. We can't wait to get back to trail work with all hands on deck, but for now help us raise the funds to tackle future trail projects. Link in bio. THANK YOU!! 🙏🏻💙

[11/18/20]   PSA: Paris Mountain State Park is again open to mountain bikes. Please be aware that some trees may still exist where riding under or around is necessary. Thanks to or many volunteers who got out and made it happen. Stay tuned for a proper thank you for our volunteers.

Big shout out to Corey Volt for volunteering some time this week to do a lot of chainsaw work at Paris Mountain State Park. He was able to clear most of Sulfur Springs trail and Brissy Ridge between Pipsissewa and the road. There were some MONSTER trees down. 1 tree remains on each of these trails.

Thanks to our volunteers at Paris Mountain this weekend! Rob S came out yesterday to take care of a nick and to limb out a tree so it’s ready for a chainsaw. Amanda H came out today to assess Brissy Ridge and clear a pine tree that was across the trail.
