Well, my 2017 Challenge to Conquer Cancer did not turn out how I hoped. A crash on Day 1 saw me in the hospital and out of the 2017 event. I want to thank the people who supported my 2017 C3 Ride as well as my teammates, family and friends. I am recovering now and hope to be back on the bike preparing for 2018 in November.
Will's Challenge to Conquer Cancer
Will is once again undertaking a labor of love to fight cancer. He will join a group of cyclists pedaling from Greenville, SC to Lewiston, ME in October.
The Challenge to Conquer Cancer exists to promote the advancement of cancer research and advocacy efforts locally, regionally and nationally through fund-raising fitness events. This will be the 8th year a group of cyclists have set out from Greenville, SC to raise money for cancer research. The group has donated over $1 million to various organizations to aid in research, patient care and facilit
Hi everyone, thank you so much for the prayers and support. This is Emily, Will's wife. Will has been admitted overnight to Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. They found a bone fragment during the CAT scan and will be performing a procedure tomorrow morning to test and see if it will have to be surgically removed. I will keep everyone posted.

One week to go before I blast off to Maine. Our last training ride is this weekend and then it is time to finish up the packing and last minute preparations. I need your help!
1. Please send me the name(s) of those you would like to honor or memorialize. During the ride we put magnets on our vehicles of those we are honoring. I will also have their names on my arm warmers.
2. If you feel so inclined, we love a good baked good item to take in the cars. Bring them to our send-off at GHS on Sept 30 or bring them by my house on Sept 29.
3. Donate to fight cancer. I am still a little short on my fundraising goal. Visit www.c3ride.org and choose my name in the drop down menu.
Home | Challenge to Conquer Cancer There are only 2 training rides left! All are welcome to ride with us. Check out the Training Page to see our planned routes.
Two weeks to go! This is the most exciting time as I start to work on last minute details like what to pack, how much to pack, bike maintenance and planning. Keep us in your prayers during this crazy time!

Rides don't always go as planned. This week my route had a little snag. Fortunately, I had a back-up plan to inflict the most pain on the group! 😀. We had a great time and, after climbing Hogback Mtn had some great views.

It is amazing the scenery and beauty we get to see every time we ride.
One month to go and Will is 50% of the way to his fundraising goal. Thank you to all those that have supported the cause this year! Please help with any amount to fight this horrible disease.
Will's training is going well and he will be ready to go in 5 weeks. Two weeks ago, Will rode seven days in a row to mimic the Ride to Maine. Now he is concentrating on his climbing legs and cutting out/reducing his favorite snacky cakes to lose a few last minute pounds!
A key part of the preparation is also coming up with a team name. This year our 5 man team (4 riders and 1 support) will be called "Purple Pirates of the Pavement." We are hunting the elusive treasure of a cure for cancer. Pictures will be posted as we get closer to the ride.

With one month to go for departure, today was a good test of the legs. We rode all over the Upstate and I felt really good. The picture is from Table Rock State Park. Please join us as we celebrate our 10th anniversary fighting cancer. Visit www.c3ride.org to contribute.

It was a beautiful day to ride in NC. We enjoyed a full weekend of training as we continue training for the ride to Maine.
It is only two months until the 2017 Challenge to Conquer Cancer! Training is in full swing with normal weekend rides topping 50 miles now. Will can only ride a few days a week due to his work travel so it is always an adventure on whether he will be fully ready for the trip. No matter what, he will be toeing the line in October for the trip.
Fundraising is now at 20% of the $5,250 minimum. Any help you can provide is much appreciated and will hopefully help change someone's life.
