Hey look Grace or Michael must have filmed Me trying to walk on the treadmill!
Great people and great organization. Everyone cares about you getting better. I give them 10 Stars.🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
PT excellant treatment. Very friendly!
SSI truly is caring and respectful of each individual's needs. Not a "one size fits all" mentality to those they work with in rehab. The atmosphere is relaxing while they find every way to get you to your goals.
This what we did this morning in class😁😁😁
We dose this at boot camp last night it was really good thank you
This what we done tonight In class
It’s was a good one tonight I loved it. I love working out at SSI 💪💪💪
Thank you, Grace, for the 7 sessions of strength training these last couple of months. I improved my 5K time on Saturday by a minute on a much hillier course, and it felt easy! And it was "fun," as you would say before assigning the toughest of exercises (burpees?).

SO grateful to the team at SSI for taking me from the first picture (last weekend of Oct 2017) to the second (first weekend of January 2018). Walking in for my first appointment, I immediately told Bryan and Amanda that I hoped to salvage my upcoming Disney race and they (along with Kaylor, Michael and Gail!) went above and beyond all along the way to make sure it happened. I can’t say enough good things about the team at SSI and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone rehabbing from an injury. Thank you, thank you, thank you, y’all! I’m gonna try to be more careful in the mud, but if things go wrong again, I know exactly where I’m headed...
Congratulations on 15 years!!! Thank you Amanda, Stephen, and all of the SSI staff. Wishing you the best for another 15!!! Stephen the low country boil was awesome!

Operating as usual

Happy Movement Monday! Today’s exercise is Deadbug. The Deadbug exercise is a popular way to build core strength and stabilization. It helps build a solid, stable foundation that protects the spine and allows for greater ease in everyday and athletic movements, such as moving heavy objects, walking up hills, and throwing. This move also helps prevent and relieve low back pain by protecting your lower back.

To get into the starting position, lie on your back, lift your hands so your elbows are above your shoulders with your fists facing in toward each other.

Lift your legs so your knees are directly over your hips.

On an exhale, slowly lower your right arm and left leg until they’re just above the floor.

On an inhale, bring them back to the starting position.

Repeat on the opposite side.

This is 1 rep

Happy Movement Monday! Today’s exercise is calf raises. Calf raises primarily work the muscles in your calf. This exercise is great for improving ankle stability, strength, and subsequently overall balance.
- Stand on a flat surface with your toes pointed straight ahead. Make sure you have something to hold onto.
- Lift your heels off the floor to flex your calf muscle. Pause for moment, and then slowly return to the floor. That’s one rep.

We are so excited that our Parkinson's class is starting back next week! Starting Jan. 6th, classes will be every Wednesday at 12pm.

Thanks for joining Moose on the Loose in all his SSI antics! He says he hopes he made you smile and that your Christmas will be filled with all the gifts that matter: family, friends, love and the Wonder of the Baby born in a manger! Merry Christmas!!

After all the workouts and physical therapy, Moose on the Loose says he thinks he should be in this book! Would you agree?

We hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Moose on the Loose says the dry needling helped his hoof, but he needs some E-stim to help the dry needling!

Abigail Ruth Hartsuiker. Born on Dec 9th, weighing 7lbs and 2oz and 21inch long.

Moose on the Loose has been exercising so hard that he has pain in his hoof. Dry needling will help, dear Moose!

Happy Movement Monday! Today’s exercise is a Seated Knee Extension (LAQ’s). This exercise is beneficial for improving strength of the quadriceps (thigh muscle group) before or after undergoing knee surgery, or after sustaining an injury. To increase difficulty, ankle weights can be used.
- Start by sitting in a chair or on a table/bench
- Extend one leg out straight, with toes pointed up, and hold for 1-3 secs
- Lower leg back down and repeat 10 times
- Switch legs and repeat

“Try the TRX, they said.” Now Moose on the Loose is stuck. Silly Moose, around here there’s always a workout involved!

Moose on the Loose heard about the Kettle Bell and thought he was being called to dinner! He had no idea that lifting weights was involved!

Moose on the Loose didn't want to go over the cones, so he snuck between them! You're only cheating yourself, Mr. Moose, when you don't do what your therapist says!

Moose on the Loose is tired of the cold so he’s taking a quick “cruise” in our pool!

Yikes! Moose on the Loose pulled too hard with his good arm and ended up in a mess!

It's Movement Monday! Today's exercise is bridging.

Bridging is an excellent core stability exercise and is effective for isolating and strengthening the gluteus (buttocks) and hamstrings (back of the upper leg). It's a popular exercise used to improve core and posterior chain strength which may assist with knee stability.

Lie on your back with hands by your side, knees bent and feet flat on the floor (under the knees)

Press your feet into the floor as you tighten your buttocks and abs, and lift your hips up to create a straight line from knees to shoulders

Hold the position in good form (tense the core, trying to pull your belly button back toward the spine)

Lower yourself back down to the floor

Moose on the Loose loves to finish a tough workout listening to Santa play his favorite Christmas carol!

Moose on the Loose says carrying around these antlers all day can give a moose a pain in the neck! Ahhhh...this traction feels great!

Silly Moose in the Loose! If you stretch too tight, you’ll get stuck!

Moose on the Loose says “Whew! It may be only 1 pound for you, but you try lifting 12 times your body weight. You'd be tired, too!”

[12/08/20]   Health Club members, there will be no Bootcamp class tonight. We plan to resume Thursday night.

Moose on the Loose loves to answer the phones at SSI! He loves us so much that he can't help himself!

Moose on the Loose got tangled in the exercise bands! You have to be careful Mr. Moose or you'll need more physical therapy!

Moose on the Loose says if you missed the first Bootcamp, you can still make it tomorrow night! He'll be cheering you on as Michael and Grayce make you sweat!

So excited that bootcamp classes are back! Come get in shape on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 5:15pm.

You've heard of the Elf in the Shelf. Well, we have a Moose on the Loose at SSI! Check us out every day to see what he gets into next!

Happy Movement Monday! This week’s exercise is tandem stance. Tandem stance is a great exercise to help with balance. It is also an exercise that you can practice every day at home.

Start by standing up nice and tall and make sure you are close to something you can hold onto.

Put your right foot in front of your left foot, as if you are walking a tightrope.

Hold this position for 30 seconds.

Switch legs and repeat.

Bootcamp classes are coming back! They will be held every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 5:15pm starting Dec. 1st and 3rd. (Maximum 8 participants).
