granddaughter Jasmin will have her first lesson today. she is very excited!
Hi! My friend Brooke Walton pointed me in your direction -- I used to board my horse at her farm. My daughter is 6 1/2 -- will be 7 in November -- and she wants to start riding lessons. I was wondering about pricing, etc.
I've had the most heartbreaking 24 hours. Last night my husband and I came home to are two dogs killing one of our cats in the back yard and after some research we feel the best thing to do is find them a new home as they are no longer safe with our cats and potentially not safe to have around our baby that is due next week. This is breaking my heart because I love our dogs so much and I feel like my little family is being torn apart.

If anyone on here is looking for a dog or two, because I would love for them to stay together, our boys need a new home. They're very good with people and older children but the need a home with no cats.

The big one is a 4 year old Aussiedor, he's great with kids and other dogs but not cats anymore. He's very lazy. My husband rescued him 2 years ago and we believe he was abused and abandoned before we had him.

The smaller one is a 1 1/2 year old beagle that I've had for almost a year. He's my little cuddle buddy and he's really just a big cowered. He's also great with kids and other dogs. He's very submissive and supper sweet I just can't have him around our other cats anymore.

We live in cherrydale and we're only asking $50 rehoming fee for each and that you have a vet we can contact to make sure they'll be properly cared for. We'll give you their feeders and food and their next few months of trifexus.

Belle Terre Farm is a full service horseback riding and horse boarding facility. We are located just a few miles from Greenville, Spartanburg, Greer, Taylors, Mauldin, Simpsonville, Easley, Dacusville & Pickens, South Carolina.

Operating as usual

Its a great morning here at Royal Oaks! Fall is officially here! We have lots going on, as always, and Im going to try and do a much better job of keeping this FB page updated and current.

Looks loke we've chosen December 5th as a tentative date for our annual Christmas Party. We havent yet chosen a location, so if you have any ideas or suggestions, let us know!

Also, this Saturday we have volunteered to help with the IEA program at Harmon Field. I need to have a firm headcount ASAP.

Our new website is up and running, so be sure to check it out.

Be sure to send me your pics so we can keep those current.

Hope to see everyone soon!! Our experienced, professional staff is adept at working with anyone--youngster through adult--at any skill level--beginner through advanced.

[02/16/15]   Hi all! Just wanted to post a few reminders. First, our show is quickly approaching... February 28th, so please let me know who is going ASAP. Also, we have picked a date for summer camp. This will be held the week of June 22nd. We have only a few spots left. Camp deposit is 50$ and is required to hold your spot. It is a "first come, first serve" basis. There will be two sessions offered just like last year. Morning camp will be from 9 am until 12 pm and the afternoon camp will be 1 pm until 4 pm. Lunch will be served. Also, looks like we are in for some nasty weather this week. I will be teaching most all day tomorrow ~ so if you would rather come then, please let me know. See you soon!!

[01/29/15]   Hi all! As many of you already know, we are planning a field trip to the Kentucky Derby this year. We desperately need to go ahead and get reservations made to hold our spot. I would like to go up on Thursday night so that we can also attend the Kentucky Oats that is held on Friday afternoon. In addition, on Sunday, I would like students to be able to meet and tour the Makers Mark Center that is located at the Kentucky Horse Park. It is very very important that I have everyone interested to contact either myself or Lauren Martin so that we can nail down hotel rooms. ( These fill up months in advance). So please please lets get this taken care of ASAP. Thanks!!

[01/29/15]   Hi barn family! Just a heads up that we are attending the schooling show at Harmon Field on the 28th of February. I need "for sures" that are going. It is very important for transportation that we have a definite number by the weeks end. Please get in touch with me or have your parents contact me by the end of the week!

[11/30/14]   Hi all! Our new website is now up and live. Please send me your recent pics so I can get them up! Be sure to check out the new website.

[09/24/14]   Good morning all!! We have lots and lots of exciting news to share with our "barn family" ! It looks as though we are on the move and have found what we hope will be a permanent location. I've realized throughout the course of the last few months, that trying to merge our program with another isn't working for most people. With that being said, this new location should bring about some much needed positive changes, be closer for most of you, and improve our program. The new facility is at 352 Pine Drive in Greer, S.C. This is the old Indigo Road Farm. We are currently taking suggestions for barn names, but will continue to keep Belle Terre for the time being. So please, please please forward me all suggestions. The move will take place over next week, and therefore all lessons will be scheduled for Thursday, Friday and Saturday of next week. Please let me know what days/times will work for you.
Secondly, we have the Octoberfest horse show which is just around the corner. Please look for more information on this. We also have a horse show the last weekend in October. If you would like or are interested in participating in either of these, I must know ASAP!
In addition, we are currently working to place an order for "apparel" for the riders ~ jackets, t shirts and hats. It is extremely important that we choose a barn name, prior to placing this order. Also, the jackets will be personalized with each riders name on the front, so you will need to preorder this item. We want every single rider to have one, so look for more information on this shortly. We will have a sample for try on at the barn.
And finally, we will be having a Fun Night at Frankies Fun Park on Monday evening. I expect to arrive somewhere around 6 pm and would like to have a short "barn meeting" at that time. This will be an opportunity to discuss things such as horse shows, apparel, the new facility, and to voice any questions or concerns you may have. Please join us ~ It will be a great time for the kids to bond and make more memories. Shoot me a quick text or email to let me know who is coming. Hope to see everyone soon!!

[09/08/14]   Hi all! There is a rodeo on Saturday night in Belton. Doors open at 6 and it starts at 8. If you have a child that is interested in going, please let me know. We have several who are going and I think this would be a fun "group" outing!

[07/21/14]   Hi guys! A heads up for those who have been traveling for vacations and such ~ We are headed to a horse show at the end of August. I need to know all of the "for sures" that are going. We need to order stalls ASAP! Thanks in advance. 07/20/2014

Teach Your Children Well | The Chronicle of the Horse Our columnist insists young riders don’t need fancy horses or unlimited funds to learn how to ride and train—but they do need trainers who won’t give up on them.

[07/01/14]   Hi all ! Just a heads up that the local news will be at our barn tomorrow doing an article. Please, please please take a moment and review our policy on attire ~ riding breeches and boots, ABSOLUTELY no blue jeans of any kind.... and chaps. Shirts should be neat and tucked in with a belt. Take a moment and clean your boots and tack in the morning. Also, if you are over the age of 8, hair should be in a hair net and neatly tucked into your helmet. We want to make a great first impression. Thanks so much in advance!!

Here are the remaining pics from camp. I had such a great time and I hope the girls did too!

The girls finished our Harlem Shake video! We had a great time!!

Our second day of camp!! Couldn't be happier to go home dog-tired and worn out after spending the day with these precious girls!!

[06/17/14]   Whew! What a day we had today! I am so very proud of our girls and their progress and success we had at our very first day of camp! We have an amazing group of riders and I am so happy to be spending my time with them!! A few things I realized today ~ Please send some type of writing instrument with your child, and also be sure to sign and return waivers tomorrow. Very important that we get those on file at the farm. We will be changing over farm names and Facebook accounts as well as getting the new website up and going by next week, so be sure to "Like" our new page as we use this as a tool to keep everyone up to date!

[06/15/14]   Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful Father's Day! Ive had lots of calls/texts regarding camp so here is a few helpful suggestions. Please make sure your child/children arrive on time for camp. The first session is at 9 am and the afternoon session begins promptly at 1pm. We are expecting warm weather this week, so I recommend sending at least one water bottle with each child. In addition, please send or apply sunscreen to your child. We will be spending the majority of our time outside and don't want anyone getting burnt. Also, please make sure your child is dressed appropriately in riding attire. We will be doing several crafts throughout the week with paint, and although it is washable, I would send an extra shirt that can be layered over riding clothes to protect them. Your child may find it beneficial to bring bug spray. Also, please make sure when you drop your child off, that we have a current liability and contact sheet for your child. Please be sure to let us know if your child has any allergies or medical issues that you feel are pertinent. I look forward to spending this week with your child!!

[05/30/14]   Well guys, we are off to a fabulous start at the new facility. I have had the opportunity now to see many of you at Foxwood, and as I drove out the drive way tonight, I felt more satisfied than ever at the decision to move. Our horses are absolutely in heaven! I am so thankful for the many of you that have decided to make sacrifices to continue to get your children to me for their lessons. When I sat down tonight and opened my email, I read an article that a parent had sent to me, along with a little note of appreciation. Here is just a portion of the article....

"Going against the grain is never popular, especially in our fast food, fast fix and win at all cost society. But the past few years have begun to produce whispers of desire to return to the basics and traditions of the past and to refurbish our sport. We need to return to basics and tradition before they are lost. We need to develop teachers that can teach and are willing to put basics ahead of everything else. A person can go a long way on an excellent foundation."
"Good riding requires a knowledge of good basics. Good basics come from good instruction. It requires attention to detail and a desire to improve. Good riding requires patience and endurance and goal setting. Competition and fancy horses are not a requirement for developing an excellent set of basic skills. Competition should always be a test of our progress and should never be our end goal. If it becomes our end goal and winning become our only desire, then we resort to short cuts, gimmicks and tricks and we lose much of the real value of a life with horses. In the end we are riding only for a prize and not for the love of the sport."

Our goal has always been, and will always be to share our passion of horses and horsemanship. The horses will always, always be our first priority and I am so thankful for the many of you that continue to support me and their children on this amazing journey.

[05/26/14]   Hi all! Due to arrangements with our property owners, and at their request, we decided to go ahead and get our horses moved and settled in over the long weekend. All lessons will resume this week as normal at Foxwood. The horses are absolutely in love with their new home! Very excited to see everyone this week.

[05/20/14]   Just a quick reminder that tomorrow night we will be having our Open House at Foxwood Farm at 6pm. Please email or text me if you still need address or directions. I absolutely can not wait to see everyone there!!

A huge weekend for us at the show! We had an amazing time and the horses were great! Congrats to Lillie and Noah!!

I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone for the kind words, sympathy and expressions of sincerity as we said goodbye to our sweet Buttercup this week. The untimely death of our horse is unfortunate, but having such a supportive group of people makes this time easier for us!

Great afternoon with these wonderful girls!!

[04/04/14]   Hi Belle Terre Family!! We are just loving this wonderful weather! Spring is definitely here and we couldn't be happier. We have had such a busy couple of weeks at our farm! We have added several new riders, so please be sure to take a minute when you meet someone new and introduce yourself and give them a big warm welcome! We are so glad to have Chiarra, Maddy, Hope, Brooke, Elizabeth, Caroline and Victoria joining us! Also, I have had several parents asking about leaving helmets and tack at the barn. We have tons of room, so feel free to leave your stuff. Please bring a Tupperware tote and label with your name. This will help keep your stuff nice and clean. Also, be sure to label all belongings, especially helmets, so we can identify them. Thanks again for all your help and hope to see you soon!!
