Just a dad and his daughter hosting a radio show about SC outdoors…camping, hunting, fishing & more! Your posts and pictures will also be greatly appreciated!

This page is going to be, along with the website, a place to come and see what everyone else is doing outdoors. I will try to keep it updated with the show schedule, posts on things we talk about each week and pictures of the places we visit and things we do outside. E-mail me at [email protected] with your pictures, questions or anything else.

It’s your outdoor future…

We are seeking public input on the Draft 2025 South Carolina State Wildlife Action Plan (SWAP). The document is available for public review and comment through September 8, 2025.

The SWAP serves as a blueprint for conserving South Carolina’s native wildlife and the habitats on which they depend. The 2025 plan identifies important landscapes and habitats, outlines challenges faced by Species of Greatest Conservation Need (SGCN), and recommends actions to ensure their long-term survival. This plan covers species that are the most vulnerable in the state because of declining populations, rarity, or deficiencies in data. It also includes strategies for research, monitoring, and measuring conservation success over the next decade.

We encourage all interested individuals, organizations, and partners to review the draft plan and share feedback through a short online survey. To access the draft plan and participate in the public comment process, visit https://www.dnr.sc.gov/swap/

To celebrate National Fishing Week, the local U.S. Forest Service, Trout Unlimited, Walhalla Fish Hatchery and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources will be hosting the annual Kids Fishing Derby at Burrell’s Ford Campground this Saturday! The event will take place from 9 a.m. until noon.

The event is for kids ages 12 and under, all participants must be accompanied by an adult. Rods, reels, tackle, stringers and bait will NOT be provided so participants will need to bring their own equipment.

To get to the event, travel north on Highway 107 approximately 10 miles from the Highway 28 intersection. Turn left on Burrell's Ford Road, then turn left into the campground parking lot. The gate will be open until 12:30 p.m. to accommodate parking.
