Boom Line Drive Winter Hitting Camp

Day 2
SESSION 2
Ages 12 / 13 / 14

The goal of this week’s activities examined a hitters load, creating separation in their launch position and recognizing the power “V” position after hitting a baseball. Many of the players at the end of the session said they now understood what load meant. Many said they knew the word , but didn’t realize what it created. A large rubber band held from bottom hand on the bat to their front foot gave the kinetic feel of separation before launching their swing.
A fun frisbee session reinforced the correct position of the batters hands at contact with bottom hand up and top hand down. The challenge was to throw it like a saucer to the other end of the cage.
The day ended with a hitting challenge. Two teams were created. The winning team was challenged to hit a baseball from a tee to the back of the cage. The teams split the two rounds. The lesson learned from this was not yo go fast , but slow their mental side down focusing on barreling the ball up to hit a Boom Line Drive.
Fun was had by all!

What do you do on a cold windy Sunday afternoon? You have a hitting camp for 16 aspiring baseball players that want to have a great 2024 season. So we filled up the truck and met them at Elite Performance Institute for two sessions.
Ages 9, 10, 11 in group 1, then 12, 13 and 14 aged player. The sound of the the Boom Line Drive was every where. Enjoy out captured photos from session 2.
