Tao Karate Club was founded by Soke Jeff Wood and combines the styles of Korean and Japanese martial arts to form Mudokwan Taekwondo. Tao means "the way" and is pronounced "DOW"
The Tao ranking system is: White - Yellow - Green - Red - Black
Visit our branch in Wiscasset where classes are held Mondays and Thursdays. Come watch a class at the dojo and speak with Renshi Karen about beginning one of the most fulfilling journeys of your life!

Sendai Soke Bob Dupuis left his mark on all of us at the Tao Karate Club. We will always remember his dedication to his students, the club, Maine Martial Arts Challnge, Tao Kamp Karate, and martial artists throughout the state. We would like to express sympathies to his family during their time of loss. We plan to honor him in the future and will invite all who knew him to share memories.

It is with heavy heart that we say goodbye to Senpai Dennis Dix. Dennis trained at the Tao for just about 50 years. He gave it 110% all the time and was dedicated to his training. He will be missed by the whole Tao family and beyond.
