Larry King Law's Langley Speedway Race #8 Recap - 8/29/26
With the season winding down, we're chasing every point to keep our spot in the ROTY battle as well as trying to close the gap in the overall championship standings.
We unloaded fast and Ryan was able to top the speed charts for the 1st time in practice #1. We sat out practice #2 (more on that later) and he ended qualifying 3rd fastest.
In the race Ryan got a good start and after a few laps he found himself in a door to door battle in the outside lane with JR Motorsports for 2nd place. Jace was fighting a loose racecar and did a great job keeping the car under control. The boys kept this up for a good 7 to 8 laps racing cleanly and never making contact. In the end Ryan just couldn't complete the pass on the outside and came home with a hard fought 3rd place finish. He also had the fastest lap of the race!
Ryan also showed some toughness and perseverance, doing all of this with a fractured index finger. Our team wants to give a huge thank you to HROSM - Hampton Roads Orthopaedics Spine & Sports Medicine for the expert guidance and providing us with options for Ryan to still compete in racing and soccer while protecting his finger.

Recently, Ryan volunteered several hours of his free time at the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank. He packed bags with food for their Backpack Program which provides healthy meal options for students to take home with them from local schools. He also helped sort food to be boxed and distributed to local food pantries in our neighborhoods. You can volunteer individually or as a group to help get food distributed out into our communities where it's needed. Check out https://hrfoodbank.org/ to see volunteer opportunities.

We returned to Larry King Law's Langley Speedway for race #7 of the bandolero season and had a great overall day. Ryan was fast in practice and qualified 3rd out of 10 cars with several fast non-regular cars in the field. He got shuffled back on a slow restart but stuck close to the cars in front of him and battled for for a 4th place finish with a last lap pass. He also ran his personal best lap time in the race. Thankfully for a fun and safe race day.

July 18th Bandolero Race #6 Recap: Another solid top 5 finish for the Rookie of the Year contender. Ryan started the day 3rd fastest in practice 1 and followed that up with 4th fastest in practice 2. He posted the 3rd fastest time in qualifying. A slow start shuffled him back to 5th where he went to work for several laps to make the pass for 4th. After settling in and working on consistent lap times that improved during the remaining laps he brought the car home to another 4th place finish.
After the race we also discovered a slow leak in the RF tire that likely helped free the car up some. It appears the crew chief needs to get to work making some adjustments to help the driver find those last few tenths of a second to get the car and driver up to the front. Thankfully for a fun, safe raceday.
We are grateful for the support we receive to helps us do what we love:

Thankful for another great, fun filled day at Larry King Law's Langley Speedway. Ryan continues to show improvement and running competitive lap times as he gains experience in the bandolero. He was 2nd fastest in prac. #1 and qualified 3rd. In the race he settled into third and worked on trimming laptimes when he inherited 2nd place after a lap 11 caution. After the restart he was able to hang with the leader finishing right on his bumper at the finishline. He tied his season best finishing position of P2. Congrats to Jace on his 4th win of the season.
We'll be back in action again this Saturday. We have to thank the folks who support our racing.
