At the beginning of this year we knew absolutely nothing about these cars or asphalt racing for that matter. We feel good about how our rookie season went.

I wanted to take a moment and congratulate Brent Rogers on his Semi-Pro championship at Cordele Motor Speedway. This dude gives it all he’s got every time he hits the track and deserves to be recognized for it. Consistency wins championships and he demonstrated that this season.

Congratulations, Brent Rogers Jr, on this accomplishment!

Could’ve had this one, but it didn’t work out. Still a solid run for us though.

9/26/26 EchoPark Race Recap

Not the hardware we wanted, but it’s the hardware we got.

PRACTICE/QUALIFYING
With yesterday being the Bandolero Nationals, the primary focus was on them. The only practice session we got was counted as qualifying as well. It was our very first laps in the new car and the new engine behaves quite differently than the 1250 we’ve been running all year. We’ll need some more laps to get the hang of it. With all that said, we qualified 2nd.

FEATURE
We knew the car was going to be fast. Normally we run a time limit of 10 mins + 2 laps, but this time we ran a lap count of 15. Shifting and corner exit is where we struggled, but that’s simply from inexperience with this engine. That will get better.

We fired off from the outside pole and got to the bottom pretty quickly. Within a few laps we had ran down the leader. The leader blew his entry into turn 3 which opened the door for us to make a move. We drove in on the bottom and had the lane when the leader pulled down, drove across our front bumper and spun.

We were considered to be involved in the incident since there was contact and sent to the rear. After the restart, we made our way back to 3rd and ran out of laps.

Overall it was a great day. We had a chance to shake down the new car and are impressed with it. Congrats to Caleb Bailey on his win! He drove a really smooth and consistent race.

Traffic was awful, got here late, and the very first laps turned in this car was during qualifying. We qualified outside pole. Car feels great, engine will take some getting used to, but we’re excited to start up front for once. Hopefully the driver will settle in and get a feel for this car.

Headed to EchoPark to shake down “Purple Rain”. Practice will be in short supply today since the focus is on Bandoleros, but here’s to hoping we carry last week’s momentum through today!
