Here are some thoughts and even a discussion If anyone wants to share their opinion.
Do you tip your guide? We tip our guides when we go out of state. Some say it should be included in the price of the service, some tip generously, some tip what they can afford and some tip nothing at all.
While money is what makes the world go around, sometimes it’s just knowing that the client had a great time, saw the hard work, time, money, blood, sweat and tears that go into being able to provide a quality experience. Clients only see the work that goes on during the trip, either a 4 hour fishing trip or a 6 day hunt. They don’t see the years, months, weeks and days prior to the trip or the money and effort spent scouting or running the operations.
Usually the tip is what lets the guide know that expectations were met, exceeded or at least they saw the effort to do so. It’s doesn’t have to be a lot of money and we don’t even know what the standard rate is for tipping because it varies so much from client to client. What do you think the going rate is? What do you think it should be?
We just want to be sure we provide quality custom adventures for our clients.
But, tip your guides. Either in money, expressing how much you enjoyed your trip or if you didn’t, for sure tell us why you didn’t and how the experience could be better in the future.
