On Saturday, 5 CCTC members continued their trek across the PA AT. They conquered the 17.5 mile section 8 from RT 325 to Clarks Ferry Bridge on the Susquehanna River. They ran into several groups of day hikers, a SoBo thru hiker, an AT Ridge Runner, and 2 trail maintenance teams from local trail clubs. The AT Ridge Runner is responsible for educating and ensuring proper use of their section of the PA AT. Kudos to the trail maintenance crews who did a great job of clearing the trail of many blow downs and poison ivy. Too bad there’s nothing they can do about those ever present PA rocks at the end of this very long hike.

After Thursday's Harmony Hill Hike, the crew headed to Victory Brewing for a lunch celebrating Ed O's completion of 2200 miles of section hiking the Appalachian Trail. Way to go Ed (second on left)! Or should we call you by your trail name, Old?

Three CCTC members took to Maine to hike another section of the Appalachian Trail. They completed approximately 37 miles of the trail. But for Ed O. they were the miles that would mark the completion of the entire trail, which makes him a 2000-Miler. Congrat's Ed!

Five CCTC hikers recently completed a hut-to-hut traverse of a section of the AT in the White Mountains in NH. This section included the iconic Franconia Ridge on a spectacular sunny day. The ascents and descents were tough, but the group was rewarded with favorable weather and fantastic views.
Thanks to hike leader Tom K for organizing this successful trip.

On this lovely June day, hike leader Ingrid led a choose your long distance hike on the Horse-Shoe Trail from St Peter’s Village to Buck Hollow Preserve. Four hikers completed all 18.2 miles and two hikers completed 14.5 miles. It was Bob”s final section to complete the entire 140-mile trail so we celebrated with much deserved cookies after the hike. Thank you to hike leader Ingrid for a great hike.

Instead of the weekly Harmony Hill hike, CCTC members met at Paradise Farm Camp today to walk the 5-mile trail run course for this evening’s East Bradford Township annual Trail Blazer run. Members checked the trail for debris and followed the course markings to ensure the runners knew where they were going. Our reward was seeing the little fellow in the picture on the left and a colorful mushroom. We encouraged the box turtle to head off into the woods before race time. Welcome to summer - it’s certainly a hot day for hiking and trail running!

Day 6: Hiking the Appalachian Trail in Tennessee, May 2026
11 miles NOBO

On the final day of hiking, the group started at Spivey Gap, prepared for rain. There were very few views to distract the hikers from the aches and pains of 5 days of hiking that led to this moment. However, the trail was in great condition, and everyone finished before the hard stuff fell. Everyone applauded Ed O. as he finished the hike at the Nolichucky River to celebrate his completion of the state of Tennessee! Thank you, Joe K., for planning and making this trip possible!
