Hitting a baseball is the most difficult thing to do in all of sports ⚾️💯

For anyone playing on a summer team this year tell your coach about this! Could be really fun!

Braydon Pedley is our final senior. He was a part of the 2019 Championship Mac team where he pitched and played outfield. This year He was looking at being a starting outfielder and starting pitcher for the 2020 Hornets. Braydon had the strongest arm on the team and he will be missed next season.

Jaime was going to be playing baseball for the first time this season. In the short time we had to work with him he showed to be very hard-working and was willing to learn. We had hoped that his speed would be able to be utilize as a weapon for the Hornets on the bases this season. Best of luck Jaime

Our second Senior Shout Out for today and our last Senior Shout Out is Jaime Gilmore!

Eric has been on the varsity team since ninth grade. Eric’s strong shortstop play last year helped the Hornets win the Mac championship. Best of luck Eric and all that you do.

Our second Senior Shout Out for today and our last Senior Shout Out is Eric Wilkinson!

Binghamton Rumble Ponies

As a pitcher it’s your job to keep hitters off balanced. To do this we must learn how to spin the baseball to create movements. Make it a point to be a pitcher who can master 3 pitches that will make hitters look foolish. It starts by getting outside playing catch with your friends. Long toss your off speed‼️#coachm1ke #t1tanmentality Repost from @hardthrows

Notice how the curveball pops up over his fingers? When the breaking ball does this you know it’s going to come in for a strike. If the breaking ball does not pop up it’s going down for a ball. When you work in BP make sure your coach mixes in curveballs. Pitch recognition is paramount at the next level. #coachm1ke #t1tanmentality Repost from @pitchingninja

There’s nothing quite like a perfectly spun curveball. ❤️

On this day last year the Harpursville Hornets won their fourth championship in school history. This year they couldn’t defend their title because of the coronavirus however next year they’ll be ready!

This year Aiden was making a come back to baseball after a long absence. In his time Aiden proved to be a player that was going to work very hard to improve his skills. Aidan was extremely fun to be around because he would always lighten the mood at the appropriate times and keep everyone loose. Good luck next year.

Our first Senior Shout Out for today is Aiden Nannery!

Camaron Smith was always a really hard worker and was willing to do the little things to help a team be successful. Whenever he was up to bat he always had a long at bat because he had a very good eye at the plate. This year Cam was looking to make a big impact in the infield. We feel he was going to have a big year.

Our second Senior Shout Out for today is Camaron Smith!

Riley started playing varsity baseball when he was in ninth grade. He’s always been a person that will do whatever the team asks him to do. Over the years he’s played almost every position on the field. He finishes his varsity career with a .370 average which is good for eighth all time in school history.

Our second Senior Shout Out for today is Riley Livermore!

2020 season canceled.

People ask who takes the photos for the baseball team. The answer is McKenzie. Over the years she has done a great job especially last year. Thanks McKenzie your photos are top notch! Fun fact: The photo on the championship banner was also taken by McKenzie!

Our second Senior Shout Out for today is Mackenzie Whidden!

Matt has been a huge part of the Harpursville baseball program. He currently owns the all-time lowest career ERA in the history of the school. His best career pitching performance came in the MAC postseason when he shut down Deposit/Hancock (the defending state champions) to help the Hornets advance to the championship game.

Our second Senior Shout Out is Matt Lyon!

Harpursville PTSA

Hapursville Hornets Senior Shout Outs Are Coming! With the Covid-19 Pandemic closing schools, the Harpursville Central School along with the community would like to recognize our 2020 Seniors! Stay tuned! First recognition posts will be Monday!

Harpursville PTSA

It has been a very trying time for all our students. At this time the Harpursville Central School, the Harpursville Teacher’s Association, PTSA, and the community want to recognize our amazing senior class who due to circumstances beyond anyone's control will miss out on many senior traditions. We recognize how hard that may be and want to give special shout outs and support to those seniors. We have met and brainstormed many ideas. The first of which will start on Monday with daily Senior Shoutouts! But wait there is more! These recognitions will continue throughout the rest of the school year. Our second recognition will be yard signs for all the senior class! Details of when these will be arriving will be coming soon! If you would like to know more about our other recognition plans or would like to help with these please PM the PTSA. We just ask that whatever is shared with you is kept a secret so we can surprise our seniors. If you have ideas we welcome them!!! Stay safe and be on the lookout for more!

Pitching Drill - The Sock Drill

Stuck at home? No problem!

This drill was created in 1999-2000 season after one of my ace pitchers came back from break 3 weeks behind everyone else because he couldn't get his throwin...

Coach Ryder received this gift from his players a few days ago. It’s awesome! Thanks.
Wooooooooooooooooooooo! Lol
